I was driving home from the emissions station today after failing the emissions test for the second time in a row. I was on the highway doing about 60 and felt a vibration, which felt like a driveshaft out of balance or something like that. Anyhow, I pulled off the highway on to the outer road expecting the vibration to get better at a slower speed....but that wasn't the case. I decided to pull into a parking lot and have a look and as soon as i turned the steering wheel....the front end of the truck suddenly got 4 inches lower and i skidded to a stop. When I got out of the truck I saw my wheel sitting in the middle of the parking lot, and every damn wheel stud on the passenger front was sheared off. Anyhow, I guess my question is has anyone else had this happen to them before? Anyone have a part number for replacement ARP wheel studs longer than stockers? Since the one wheel and tire were pretty torn up I went ahead and bought a set of ZR-1 wheels with tires tonight to put on it. All in all I think I got lucky. It looks like everything is alright minus the wheel and right side wheel arch cladding. The cladding actually didn't rip or tear or anything, but the mounting tabs seperated from the actual cladding....so I either need new cladding there or have to figure out a way to reattach the mounting tabs back on. Any suggestions?
