UPDATE:
Shaft #
After a lot of quotes, waiting on a company that I thought would work sit on parts for a few months we finally have a place ready to make these shafts.
Mike Hardman who lives near Cincinnati has done a lot of leg work to make this happen. Luckily we finally found a shop we trust, Mike has visited on a couple occasions and best of all close enough he can check on them daily if needed.
Jeremy Duncan, Hardman and Myself are all working this GP. This is a help the community effort, not a put extra cash in our pockets adventure for the JSM crew.
The shop is requiring a 25% downpayment on our end to get started and 20 shafts to secure this price. So here are the details I have worked out.
$365+ $20 shipping if you prepay by Feb. 5th. ty1295@gmail.com for paypal (include the fee if you use paypal) or you can mail a check/MO/etc. to
Email me for contact info.
Our goal is enough people prepay to cover the 25% down we must make.
Those that want to wait until they are ready to be picked up at the machine shop price will be $400 + $20 shipping.
The shaft will be machined from 4130 and hardened to ~38 HRC. They will plug into the transfer case (takes about 1hr at most to do) and allow you to run a 32 spline output shaft in the 4l80e transmission. If you need other 80e conversion parts I can supply you some drawings of just about everything except the crossmember no charge.
Obviously if your sending a check it may not get here by friday, once its in the mail just let me know.
If you want to wait until they are done and pay then, again let me know as I need to make a FIRM list this time.
I am guessing turnaround time to be 2 months based on rough machine, heat treat, final machining and splining. The only thing these will NOT include is the plastic cup in the rear, which you can remove from your stock shaft. If someone can find a supplier for them that would be great also. I just don't have a source yet.
