Why do you use a boost controller?

If you had a 3" DP for the stock turbo like I do, boost control is excellent with the Grainger valve

A 3" downpipe isn't going to help matters, I see it hurting the issue. Kind of like gutting your cat, providing less backpressure. Didn't you modify the wastegate when the downpipe was done as well?

Yeah, I guess I could have been a little more specific. I modified the turbine housing by drilling a 1 1/8" hole where the service port is. It allows the wastegate a straight shot into the DP. I think the headers slow the spool, and the DP picks it back up. I believe it's a good combo.

I made 14 pounds of boost by second gear on a 14.0@99mph run with the wastegate rod disconnected. Kinda scary how small the stock turbine is. HTH,
