who has stuff mounted in there glovebox?

who has guages or the ECM or anything cool mounted in the glovebox?
i was thinking of mounting the computer and some guages in there, keep it all hidden.
i searched and found a picture of the ecm but not much more.

anyone with pics?

i got my ecm in th glovebox, best place for one. i don't know if you want to put gauges in the glovebox as they would be a little hard to see.

Thats a really good idea never though of that. Along the lines of gaugesmaybe you could put it on the glovebox door so you could flip it down when you need em but thats kinda far out of sight.

whats all involved with relocating the ecm to the glovebox? I mean I imagine adding lenght to all the wires but what else? any cutting of the inside of the box required?

ECM in all 3 trucks here.

No mods, just lots of patience to rerun wires up through back.

I imagine people do it to make tuning easier. (guys that burn theyre own chips and are constantly swapping them out, also standalone systems).

Yep. It takes about 10 seconds to swap the chip out with the ECM in the glove box.

thats what started the idea for me.... i have a pillar pod but its full.
i want to see some pictures. anyone?

Seriously, nothing mounted there yet, but someday the ECM will be in there :tup:

I put the ECM in there for no real reason while doing my rewiring. I had some pipe dream that I was going to be some super-tuner guy and would want easy access to the ECM; that's gone flushing down the toilet, and now it'll just take up room there.

I haven't had a chance to get the truck on the road for some testing...Also, when I look at DM, I roughly know what to look for and what things should be, but when it comes to changing X or Y to get a desired result, I'm pretty lost. I can adjust fuel pressure, timing, add tuneup parts, etc., but when it comes to chasing knock for years like many guys have, I don't feel very confident that I could do too much. I guess it comes down to lack of experience, and downright fear.....
