When is the TN meet. Is Joe's garage ready?

Re: When is the TN meet. Is Joe's garage ready?

We could meet around 4:00 pm next spring at Bellevue and still grill some burgers in a corner section of the parking lot. It would be good for exposure too for our trucks. I'm sure come spring, the fever will hit and everyone will want to show off their winter season upgrades. I'll go back regardless but just threw it out there in case some of you other semi-local guys/gals wanna go. More to follow come February :). A meet at Joe's sounds good as well. Maybe we can schedule to do both before the NATS.

I can only hope that by getting together at a few local shows, someone might come up to us and say they have a friend who has one. If a few people did this, we might actually be able to recruit some new people. We are in TN, not many internet user down south, lol. There has to e more sy/ty's than we are ever coming up with.

tnsyty- Am I the one you are referring to? I've been keeping an eye on this forum. Never got an email. The spring meet sounds good to me. I wanted to do a few more things anyway. I'll be watching this thread for any new news. Thanks again!

Re: When is the TN meet. Is Joe's garage ready?

What do you all say....let's stop emailing about it and plan it. I recommend we look at the last weekend in April and meet up at Bellevue at 4 P.M. That'll give time to prepare the trucks and then get to meet one another. If grilling out is not feasible, we can all cruise to sonic (less than 1/4 mile away) for some evening vittles. I can do some searching and find out what the exact date will be so we can all make sure we are NOT working. Seems I recall vaguely that there was even a website about the meet. There is also a radical cruise-in at Franklin with alot of the yuppies coming out with their high $$ cars but I've never been to it; only heard about it. Let me know your all's thoughts and I'll get to work on it if need be. If anyone has a better suggestion or meeting place, please post it.

Found the link: http://www.bellevuecruisers.com

Looks like we will have to plan it on the first Saturday of the month though because that is when they meet so whichever month's facilitates the most syty'ers is the one we need to plan. What works for you guys.....April or May? Either is good for me. Anyone want to hang out until the street races start (somewhere around midnight). One guy last year had a Z06 that produced close to 1,100 HP but I didn't stay out late to watch the races.

Act I

SCENE TWO
JOE'S GARAGE

A boring old garage in a residential area with a teenage
band rehearsing in it. JOE (the main character in the CENTRAL
SCRUTINIZER'S Special Presentation) sings to us of the trials
and tribulations of garage- band husbandry.

JOE:
It wasn't very large
There was just enough room to cram the drums
In the corner over by the Dodge
It was a fifty-four
With a mashed up door
And à cheesy little amp
With a sign on the front said
"Fender Champ"
And a second-hand guitar
It was a Stratocaster with a whammy bar

At this point, LARRY(a guy who will eventually give up music
and earn a respectable living as a roadie for a group called Toad-O)
joins in the song...

LARRY:
We could jam in Joe's Garage
His mama was screamin'
His dad was mad
We was playin' the same old song
In the afternoon 'n' sometimes we would
Play it all night long
It was all we knew, 'n' easy too
So we wouldn't get it wrong
All we did was bend the string like...

Hey!
Down in Joe's Garage
We didn't have no dope or LSD
But a coupla quartsa beer
Would fix it so the intonation
Would not offend yer ear
And the same old chords goin' over 'n' over
Became a symphony
We would play it again 'n' again 'n' again
'Cause it sounded good to me
ONE MORE TIME!

We could jam in Joe's Garage
His mama was screamin', "TURN IT DOWN!"
We was playin' the same old song
In the afternoon 'n' sometimes we would
Play it all night long
It was all we knew, and easy too
So we wouldn't get it wrong
Even if you played it on a saxophone
We thought we was pretty good
We talked about keepin' the band together
'N' we figured that we should
'Cause about this time we was gettin' the eye
From the girls in the neighborhood
They'd all come over 'n' dance around like...

Twenty teen-age girls dash in and go STOMP-CLAP, STOMP-CLAP-CLAP...

So we picked out à stupid name
Had some cards printed up for a coupla bucks
'N' we was on our way to fame
Got matching suits
'N' Beatle Boots
'N' a sign on the back of the car
'N' we was ready to work in a GO-GO Bar

ONE TWO THREE FOUR
LET'S SEE IF YOU GOT SOME MORE!

People seemed to like our song
They got up 'n' danced 'n made a lotta noise
An' it wasn't 'fore very long
A guy from a company we can't name
Said we oughta take his pen
'N' sign on the line for a real good time
But he didn't tell us when
These "good times" would be somethin'
That was really happenin
So the band broke up
An' it looks like
We will never play again...

JOE:
Guess you only get one chance in life
To play a song that goes like...
And, as the band plays their little song,

MRS. BORG (who keeps her son, SY, in the closet with the vacuum cleaner)
screams out the window...

MRS. BORG:
Turn it down! Turn it DOWN! I have children sleeping here...
Don't you boys know any nice songs?

JOE:
(Speculating on the future)
Well the years was rollin' by
Heavy Metal 'n Glitter Rock
Had caught the public eye
Snotty boys with lipstick on
Was really flyin' high
'N' then they got that Disco thing
'N' New Wave came along
'N' all of a sudden I thought the time
Had come for that old song
We used to play in "Joe's Garage"
And if I am not wrong
You will soon be dancin to...

CENTRAL SCRUTINIZER:
The WHITE ZONE is for loading and unloading only. If you gotta load or
unload, go to the WHITE ZONE. You'll love it...

JOE:
Well the years was rollin' by (etc.)...

MRS. BORG:
I'm calling THE POLICE!
There! I did it! They'll be here...shortly!

OFFICER BUTZIS:
This is the Police...
We have the garage surrounded
If you come out with your hands up
We guarantee you won't be harmed
Or hurt, neither (SWAT Team 4, move in!)

MRS. BORG:
He used to cut my grass... He was a very nice boy...

CENTRAL SCRUTINIZER:
This is the CENTRAL SCRUTINIZER...
That was Joe's first confrontation with The Law.
Naturally, we were easy on him.
One of our friendly counselors gave him
A do-nut... and told him to
Stick closer to church-oriented social activities.

Re: When is the TN meet. Is Joe's garage ready?

Hello! I recognized the aspen blue typhoon and syclone... but didn't put the big picture together. And i appreciate all the help you've given me. You're a good guy in my book no matter what these guys say :p. I've known of this site for awhile... but just joined becase i felt worthy kinda... Because I've done my research and I'm not the average new user.... Did you get my last email? The one in Seattle, WA for 7,5 would be great... if it wasn't in ..... Seattle. I've found out that i do want to de-badge it all the way and paint the body cladding just like the body... Nice, sleek, and smooth.

The paint scheme I have for my Sonoma... possibly the future Syclone.

A truck built I saw on ebay about a year ago that I really like the look of
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a262/adrenaline_rush_fanatic/syclone.jpg

It wasn 't a syclone... It was a replica....Can't remember if it was AWD..But it was a 4.3 Turbo.

Thanks Joe so much for everything!

No problem. I enjoy helping a fellow Tennessean find a SyTy. There arnt that many of us around here. I tried to email you back but I got an error message.

I think that Red Sy was a real Syclone. If I remember correctly it was for sale on here.

If youre really interested in the one in Seattle you can probably find somebody close to it to go check it out for you. Thats what I did with our Ty, it was in AZ. Jimmy and I have looked at a few for sale in TN for people too.

Re: When is the TN meet. Is Joe's garage ready?

I remember the red one... I'm fairly confident it wasn't a true Sy. I was young and stupid so i'm not going to argue.... and I don't own a Sy.... Nor have I been on this forum long. I'm a noob and I know my place! :) Doesn't mean I'll let people boss me around tho......;)

You remember that Se-R guy on tennesspeed??? he was a retard... bought a se-r for $31k.... Msrp loaded is 29.... I know... I looked it up on Nissanusa.com
AND.... You remember him saying i can find a used Se-r for around 24k but it won't be a 6spd?

Another dumbass comment... The Se-r's all come with 6spds. All of them. No automatics...no 5spds. Only 6spds.

I'm 99% confident of this but... please correct me if i'm wrong

Yeah..anybody thatll spend 31k on SE-R is retarted..imo. Itll be worth less than 1/2 that in two years! I dont pay alot of attention to tennesspeeders. Some of them ive met are cool but most of the ones ive met wernt that nice. Somebody I know (not naming names) calls it the "fat boys with mustangs website".
I could be wrong about that red Sy...it was awhile ago and I cant remember all the details. I do remember seeing it..it looks great!
