Got the wheels but also does the kit come with lines and what rotors can I use?

Also with the kit what else is needed for instalation

kit comes with brackets, bolts, and braided brake lines. spindle mods are required. you have to do some trimming and grinding on the spindle. you have to remove the factory brake caliper mounting points. c6 z06 rotors are required.

You need to buy corvette rotors... the bracket kits... the callipers... pads... pad retianer clips and pins... not 100% sure on what hoses they use.

So pretty much get a kit and clips and pins should cover everything then

Are you looking to sell?

I thought C6 Z51 rotors could be used, and therefore the C4 ZR1 wheels would clear. :dunno:

Rotor should not have anything to do with with wheel clearance since the caliper is usually the problem. Now if you are saying someone makes a shorter bracket which requires the use of the Z51 rotors, that would impact the wheel clearance.

I swear I read that with a Renz bracket, the 4 piston CTS-V calipers over C6 Z51 rotors would clear C4 ZR1 wheels, but now I can't find it. Maybe I was just hoping or dreaming. I'm considering 18s, but I'm trying to keep from not being able to run my 17s if I want to. More research, I guess!

It would be very close "IF" 17" wheels would fit, my gut is telling me they wont. Especially with those calipers compared to a standard two piston caliper.

The front Z51 rotor is 13.4" taken from here:

and here:

Typically the standard fitment is you have to add 4" to the rotor size to allow for caliper clearance (this isn't written in stone, but holds true most of the time).

For example:

F-body LS1 rotor 12" add 4" inches for caliper you get 16". Smallest wheel you can run (unless you're using a custom made wheel, high negative offset Pro Lite (hope you wouldn't on a SyTy) etc. Most wheels smaller wont fit, and hence why this is the largest rotor you can run behind a stock SyTy wheel.

C5 Corvette rotor 13" add 4" inches for caliper you get 17" is the smallest wheel you can run (most of the time).

C6 Z51 rotor 13.4" add 4" inches you get 17.4" (most likely you're not getting a 17" wheel on this setup) again this isn't always 100% true, but usually holds up.

The caliper is what is going to hit the wheel, not the rotor. Unless Renz has another bracket that is made to fit down lower onto the z51 caliper, the caliper is going to be in the same position no matter what rotor is under it.

So putting a smaller rotor on will make no difference in what size wheel will fit, unless a new bracket is made as well.

Re: What's needed for ctsv front calipers swap

there isn't that much point in putting a big caliper on a small rotor. The pads won't be in full contact with the rotor and the edges of the caliper will be off the rotor also - it would look dumb and be pointless. If you want to use the z51 rotors, use the z51 calipers also. The reason we use c6 z06 rotors instead of cts-v rotors is becuase of bolt pattern. the rotors themselves (c6 z06 vs cts-v) are very close to the same size.

Renz is working on making one of the cts-v/camaro ss rear calipers work with Z51 rotors for me for the front of my Sy under 17" OEM Grand Sport/ZR1 wheels... Should know if its gonna fit soon...

If you can get this to work Renz it would be pretty badass and highlight one the best brake setups you could put behind a 17, replacing the C5 Corvette setup.

Paul don't go cheap now I wan't to see two piece rotors on there

Shit, your killing my Roy... Those rotor are almost $500 when I can get the one piece for like $250...

I still need about 5K more in parts to finish my truck... Don't know if I have any extra scratch for fancy rotors...

See ya..

Yes, I understand that the rotor itself doesn't have anything directly to do with the wheel size. However, if you put a 13.4" rotor on a vehicle that originally had a 10.5" rotor, OBVIOUSLY the caliper is going to have to be moved out too, which is what directly impacts the wheel size. I kind of thought that went without saying. :p

This is the setup I was thinking about. I knew I'd read that somewhere! This is exactly what I'm after.
