What the F**K is it?

That what I got asked a few days ago when I was at the liquer store, I ran in and grabbed some Everlcear since I had the next morning off...I was just gonna be in and out so I left the truck running just outside the door at the curb. I peak my head around to look at it because its beautiful, and I notice and old man walking around it with a curious look on his face.

So I go out there and ask him if he likes it....
He removes his glasses-
Looks at the GMC on the front-
Glances back towards me-
Once again back the the truck-
Looks me back, this time in the eyes and asked "What the f**k is it?"

So I tell him "Its a Typhoon, GMC only mad about 5500 or so of these from 92-93 only, basically it started its life as a 4x4 Jimmy, then got a set if nice set of tits thrown on it. Aswell as a little surprise from the old GN era"

So I pop the hood, show him the goods, let him look at the interior, I even offered to let him sit in it and feel the comfy seats. But he gratiously declined....

"Just got off work, Im dirty and dont want to scuff it up anything" he said.

Told him a little more about it being AWD, able to beat any high prices supercar on the road today, and what not....

Then I shook his hand and I was on my way.

Well today ago I saw that man at the gas station, his towing rig was a 91-92 SS454, and on his trailer was his new truck....a 91 Sy.

So he and I had another little conversation, he said it was his sons...who bought it brand new off the lot while he was on leave from the Marines, and had a little too much fun in it apparently...and some how managed an engine fire. Unfortunatly the soldier lost his life, so the truck just sat, tucked away in his garage under a tarp all the years, said it was all he had left of his son. And he was gonna make it right again.

Damn truck had less 1800 miles on the clock, still had the new car smell too when he opened up the door.

Holy shit!
That's an awesome story.

Tell him about this place and that we are all here to help him restore that beauty and make his son smile down on him while he is out boost launching it like a madman!

Wow, that is heart warming that he wasnts to fix the truck up in his sons honor(which is what I'm getting from the story). If he has internet  , he needs to get on here!

Good story. As mentioned above make sure he finds this place to learn about what a gem he has on his hands.

Strange that a guy with a Syclone is so dumbfounded by a Typhoon. Even if it is his son's, weird that he doesn't recognize a cladded out Jimmy as "that other vehicle made in 1990's"

Only 1800 miles with an engine fire?! Wouldn't that be covered under warranty? smells fishy.

Maybe he didn't realize they made a Typhoon and was surprise see to GMC Jimmy that looked like his sons unique Syclone.

Sounds like he stuffed it in back of garage, covered it up and forgot about it.

Be cool story to hear from him for sure.

I like the part of him towing it with a 454ss silverado. I plan on doing the same someday  That's an awesome story too.

I dont know, Ive lived in this small ass town damn near half my life....first time Ive ever seen him. I got my old bike out too when I got home, and went for a nice drive around the two mile radius of a town. And I didnt see the SS454 sitting in any driveways or anything. So Im thinking that he lives out in the country somewhere.

I might go hang out at the liquer store some more and see if he comes back, or ask the guy who runs the place if he comes in there a lot, or knows who he is.
