That what I got asked a few days ago when I was at the liquer store, I ran in and grabbed some Everlcear since I had the next morning off...I was just gonna be in and out so I left the truck running just outside the door at the curb. I peak my head around to look at it because its beautiful, and I notice and old man walking around it with a curious look on his face.
So I go out there and ask him if he likes it....
He removes his glasses-
Looks at the GMC on the front-
Glances back towards me-
Once again back the the truck-
Looks me back, this time in the eyes and asked "What the f**k is it?"
So I tell him "Its a Typhoon, GMC only mad about 5500 or so of these from 92-93 only, basically it started its life as a 4x4 Jimmy, then got a set if nice set of tits thrown on it. Aswell as a little surprise from the old GN era"
So I pop the hood, show him the goods, let him look at the interior, I even offered to let him sit in it and feel the comfy seats. But he gratiously declined....
"Just got off work, Im dirty and dont want to scuff it up anything" he said.
Told him a little more about it being AWD, able to beat any high prices supercar on the road today, and what not....
Then I shook his hand and I was on my way.
Well today ago I saw that man at the gas station, his towing rig was a 91-92 SS454, and on his trailer was his new truck....a 91 Sy.
So he and I had another little conversation, he said it was his sons...who bought it brand new off the lot while he was on leave from the Marines, and had a little too much fun in it apparently...and some how managed an engine fire. Unfortunatly the soldier lost his life, so the truck just sat, tucked away in his garage under a tarp all the years, said it was all he had left of his son. And he was gonna make it right again.
Damn truck had less 1800 miles on the clock, still had the new car smell too when he opened up the door.
