What stall for a PTE Stealth 70 turbo??

I Know this depends on the build combo, cam, tune etc. but in general with a 422 cam and a good tune..... what stall would match a Stealth 70? Would 2800-2900 be ok or is more required? I'd like to hear from those with one or experience tuning one.

I think most people running this turbo use a 3000rpm stall

2800rpm is fine, I've done a little tuning on a stock motor truck with that converter and turbo.

Larson had one... His seemed to like a bit more converter. I'd personally recommend 3k or better, if you're gonna buy one.

A loose 28-2900 would be ok, if you already have one. All depends on how long you can wait for spool-up. :)

There's a fair amount of low-end fuel map tuning involved... ugly low-end fueling will make it spool like a dog.

I'm using a Hughes 3K stall on mine with no problems. When PTE still had it cataloged, they recommended a 3500 stall.

3000min I would say...i have a 3000 on a pte51. A stealth is much larger.

I have a 3200 with a 422 and a 76mm and the tune isnt close yet. And it still spools fine. By fine I mean 4-5 psi on the footbrake in around 1.5-2 sec.

Hmm, it doesn't *look* that much bigger

I think everyoves' covered it. FWIW I ran a 3200 stall on my 70 stealth. It spooled great. Somedays I wish I still had the 70 stealth in my truck. It was a killer street turbo!
