I would go with electrical for safety reasons. Im not fond of any engine fluids in the passenger compartment. I use the fuel pressure gauge (mechanical) as a source for my madness.

i ALWAYS run electrical, for the reason speed said , a good example is when i was in high school i had a mechanical oil pressure gauge that sprung a leak and leaked into my stereo igniting what turned out to be a complete vehicular meltdown..... lets just say a burning car lets off alot of smoke , plus to get the ends of mechanical temp gauges thru the fire wall it takes a very large hole , like 3/4" if not bigger. electrical also look neater , dont have the larger spring covered sender wire running all over. electrical gets my vote.

That shows my ignorance. I didnt realize that mechanical meant the fluid is right into the passenger compartment. NO THANKS! The electrical one is cheaper anyway!

Yea right on Shuggs..... the only mechanical you want is boost (air)...

I may be wrong but Im pretty sure the tech at the track may look shitty on you if you want to bring any mechanical gauge into the passenger compartment (besides air - most fluids are frowned upon)

just a side note... you can get a fuel (electrical) sender for electrical gauges like I did on my eclipse for the fuel pressure.... some arent recommended but i have a mech under the hood also... just a thought

YES... if you buy on eBay like I do be careful, the mechanical are cheap, the electrical are more expensive.

I dont think you want 40+ PSI of fuel in your face do you?

I go with a mechanical on the FPR in the bay and then a fuel pressure gauge (electrical) in my face - not nesacary (sp?) but i rock it.

you will also need a sending unit. then run just one wire to the guage. You will need a ground,power and light controls to on most guages.
