Pulled the gauge cluster and radio out for shipping to a repair shop in Richmond, Va.

Reinstalled the radio (no more static or flickering readout) and the gauge cluster (tripmeter ((thanks Sportmachines)) & odo work great now) plus now I can see with new led lights.

I pulled the coilovers out to install some spring spacers, and give them a good cleaning. Installed the 3 bar map for my boost gauge, since I sole the other one when we added code 59. I hope to get the WB02, 3 pod pillar (currently only a 2) and ALKY kit on too. I'm gonna need some help with those items tho.

Looking good Morgan. Are you having the kids in your class do this at school?

yup, they love tearing down vehicles. They don't get to do it often and its really a great way for them to see how exactly an entire vehicle is assembled (for the most part), not just the normal replace this, change that.

Wrenched the hell out of sy1356 which has not been on the road for 15 years. Slapped together motor and trans, added borgsen shaft, ZQ8 box, solid motor mounts, poly trans mount, pulled bed to install fresh Walbro pump, replaced front brake hose that had swelled shut..etc etc....bottom line is she runs now and has logged some road miles! This is right before setting the engine in on Friday

Pulled the new DutchTy lower IC out to check if'n I tightened all clamps cause I was loosing fluid. I was able to tighten them but I will have to wait and see if the problem is fixed. While down I noticed that one of the hoses was kinked, so I put it all back up and it seems like that is all good now. I got my 160 degree T-stat in and put on the S.M upper radiator hose and brake booster hose on too. Lastly, I 've been fighting the addition of my coil over spacers. On a recommendation I purchased some 1" ones, but they did not slide into the upper spring holders without opening them up. Then, I can't get them installed because now the spring needs to be compressed to fit the spacer. Borrowed a compressor from the parts store, and no workie...as it only works on the top and bottom portion of the spring.....not allowing me to install the tops. Jeesh.

Put the new 8.5 mm race wires and cap n rotor from Hood Tuned and put a tranny mount in. Taylor wires were nothing but trouble as usual. No more loss of power if I press the gas more than 75%.

Finally repaired my antenna cable that plugs into the back of the radio. The previous owner did a half assed fix on it after they cut it and it came apart. Hasn't worked since I bought the truck so it's good to have a radio now. And I fixed it with the appropriate connection No, no more adapter.

Started doing the valve stem seals today on the engine that came out of #180. I'm using a leak down tester to check the integrity of the cylinder, rings and valves. I thought I had an issue with #1 but it turned out to just be a stuck intake valve from sitting, so I went ahead and replaced the seals.

After #1, I went and moved onto #6. Once I tapped into the cylinder, the leak down tester was showing almost 50% loss, so I went and ran the engine around one more time to confirm TDC on #6, but once again, I can't bring that cylinder up to where it should be.

Sooooooo, at this point I'm either going to start shopping for a set of L35 heads, have my Manley valves stuffed in them, get a set of roller rockers, rings and see if Renz has anymore of those stainless sparkplug heat shield thing-a-mabobers cause I doubt these will come off in one piece.

Ugh, its always something.
