Vac Lines to TB

Ok Guys,

I'm hooking up the SyTy BBK Throttle Body and wondering what lines go to what ports. I see 5 ports, and the little one in the front goes to the line to the charcoal canister, right ?

It looks like the rear PCV line goes to the smaller of the two yellowish steel ports in the back of the TB. The other PCV line has to go somewhere ? So, I'm left w 3 ports on the TB - the bigger steel one at the back, and the 2 cast ports in the bottom assembly that bolts to the bottom of the TB. One of the cast ports is at the rear bottom and the other is towards the front on the bottom.

I thought maybe I remembered that one of the cast ports wasn't hooked up when I took it off, but I can blow thru both of these ports, so I guess they should be hooked to something. They would need pretty big lines.

I noticed also that the TB gasket is smaller than the TB and manifold openings all around. Has anyone cut back the gasket to fit the holes ?

TIA

Vac Ports on rear Upper TB

Vac Ports on rear Upper TB

Hey Guys,

Does anyone know ? The two Vac ports in the Rear Upper corner of the TB - What hooks to the larger port ? The smaller (lower) one appears to be for the PCV hose.

It appears that the lower 2 ports under the TB are for Radiator water and this isn't used on our cars.

My stock TB was ripped off and I had to get the BBK for SyTy's, I assume the ports are the same as for the stocker ?

Re: Vac Lines to TB

The bottom two are for coolant which are left unattached in SyTy's (for icing in N/A v8's) The extra vacuum port needs to be plugged to avoid a vauum leak (again not used in SyTy)

TB Vac lines & PCV's

TB Vac lines & PCV's

Thanx alot Dave. So the large, stamped metal port on hte TB towards the rear of the car above the smaller PCV port should be plugged ?

There are 2 PCV valves off the Pass. Valve Cover. The rear one goes to the TB and I guess the front one goes to the nipple on the stock plastic air inlet to the turbo.

I'm replacing that with my own Cold Air inlet where the battery was. So, I guess I'll put a breather where the front PCV goes. I bought 2 breathers at AutoZ that have PCV's in them. I'll use one for that location and one for the Drivers side Valve Cover hole.

By putting in a breather where it would normal plug into the air filter will disable PCV function under boost. The rush of air from the Turbo sucking air under boost is suopse to creat a vacuum. I would just run a line to where the airfilter is and tap the for a PCV hose connection (the plastic nipple on the crossover tube unscrews)

PCV into Inlet Air

PCV into Inlet Air

Very Good point, Dave. I was going to get into the Air inlet duct to put in a temperature sensor, so maybe I'll do both in the same location.
