In an earlier thread I introduced myself and told you guys about my luck with the Typhoon and transmission rebuild.
Well I'm back
Since the work was was I've driven maybe 20 miles, drove it to work the next day and to buddies place the day after. Nothing crazy, no hot roding, so at this point I've ran less than a tank of gas since purchase maybe 160 miles.
I got my aldl cable and loaded up tuner pro on my laptop wanted to see how it looks/works and after starting it up I can hear what sounds like a knock from the engine. Open the hood and wow I'm no pro but sounds like piston slap definitely something internal. At idle its quite starts knocking around 1800 then gets quite again around 2500.
Very unlikely but maybe a convertor bolt is loose or something from the transmission job is starting to make noise. The sound really seems too slow for that more like 1/2 crankshaft speed, even slower that that really, but I'll be bringing it back to the shop on Monday.
I have the work order from the shop in Monroe that did the motor replacement and its been 8 months and a total of 214 miles since the work was finished. Also in the paper work I received when I picked it up it looks like they may have already warrantied one of these long blocks...I got a very poor response from Millennium Motors when I called about the transmission so I'm guessing I'm going to get the exact same thing when I ask about the engine.
Keeping my fingers crossed but I have a feeling I'll be building a motor soon.
