is there a part # or specific name for it? been searching for something that looks good without being to blingy and keeping a stockish color feeling.

When I had mine done (looks the same as those) the shop called it Super Chrome.
See the intake elbow in my AV, that's Super Chrome as well.

Got it back today. Lots of unexpected work from previous owner. Wallers work looks exceptional. I will be taking the breakin slow and then get an AWD tune.

Re: TYPHOON project...ready for Waller!

Just got my phill long chip back from Mike Hood. I started it up for the first time today. It wouldnt idle or run hardly at all. I thought for sure the chip was way off or I had some other issue. After a few minutes it quit popping and carrying on less and less. I did nothing except triple check everything and let reach temp about 3 times and drive around the neighborhood. It idles almost perfectly and runs pretty good. the phill long burn isnt very far off. I went from being totally frustrated and pissed to feeling pretty giddy.

Waller's work was darn good.
Mike Hood's fixed the chip and it runs real well.

Pretty happy right now after alot of frustration.

Shindig looks like a possibility now.

Re: TYPHOON project...ready for Waller!

Thought I'd post my pms with Mike Hood in case it helps someone or somebody has an idea.

Hey Mike,

Timing:
I know the distributor was in backwards and Waller dropped in right. I thought about the timing and since someone stole my timing light I thought well Waller had to set it after he dropped the distributor in. But I think Ill go buy another and just check it.

Grounds:
Waller wired everything but Ill check it anyway.

Kinks:
Ill check it out also.

Vacuum leaks?
It idles better with a vacuum leak. It must be ok and I did recheck every single vacuum line and replace them with new fresh line before cranking it.

Fouled plugs:
Ill check them out. They should be fine.

It idles like a stock truck set at 20 psi FP and on "0" chip setting.
It idles pretty nice at 50psi and on "0" setting.
It idles pretty nice on any setting at 20 psi.
I think it will idle much better at 32 psi.
It may need some break in it has only 5 hours or so.

Would a datamaster recording (without wideband) of an idle help any?

thanks again,
mario

Otherwise, I'd check the following:

- ECM grounds tight?
- No kink in fuel return line?
- No vacuum leaks?
- Does it idle better on ANY of the other bins (0-F)?

That chip doesn't REQUIRE 50psi. That was the Ultimate and some Phil Long chips. I'd start out around 32 psi and tune from there. Make sure the plugs aren't fouling, because if the are, then even when you get the fuel right, it'll run ragged due to fouled plugs.

I'll scratch my head a bit more and PM if I think of anything else.[/quote]

Re: TYPHOON project...ready for Waller!

I set it to 32 psi and unless it has a vacuum leak(unplug FP vacuum line) it pretty much shuts after having a wandering idle.

Is this Brandon's old Ty? Was sad to see him sell it, but it looks like it's in good hands. Post some vids of that thing making some passes
