Hi Guys,
Please first off i have searched and searched on the forum for this answer but to no avail, i am just confusing myself.
After 4 YEARS of rebuilding we have finished Sy 519 it has passed the government MOT safety test in the UK but it runs absolutely rubbish. I have lost my Syclone manual and have just bought another one but its gonna take a while to get here.
All i need to know is what should the timing be set at for an initial setup, i have no idea what to start at, i have checked the timing as it stands (when it was stock from 4 years ago) and with the new chip in place and the other parts bolted on i have a reading of 27 degrees at the harmonic balancer. I am sure this is wrong!
The spec of my Syclone is as follows:
PT52 Turbo
3 bar map sensor
Ultimate chip
atr double pumper
atr exhaust
Mccoys air/air intercooler
Mccoys induction kit
33lb injectors
fuel pressure regulater
msd leads
My questions:
1. From start up how do we set the initial timing with the new parts bolted on, what should the degrees be set at (advance/retard), do we have to pull the tan wire to set the timing with the Ultimate chip fitted ?
2. Does the ultimate chip need any initial setup or is it plug and play ?
3. Why is the red led knock light on permanantly on the ultimate chip guage, even on tick over (we have set the guage to T115, the lowest setting)
All i really want to know is what do i do now, i had a reliable stock Syclone 4 years ago, i have invested alot of money and now i have no idea what to do, i got no instructions with any of the parts i bought so i am flying totally blind (thats why i have hit this brick wall so to speak)
Please somebody help me set up my mildly tuned Syclone, i have read everything i can find but i need help
