after having, now knowing, tps sensor problems (had the spacers on the wrong side so i was getting a hesitation at acceleration) i go ahead and clean out the tb and upper intake and decide to do a test run. forward>no hesitation~reverse>no hesitation, hmm, alright!

now i think i'll do a boost---whapsssshhhh! launch. whoa!, i just spun the rear tires and had a significant amount of torque-steer. i go back to my take off point and before i even get there you can clearly see my rear tire tread marks. now this wasn't a full smash the gas boost launch, but it wasn't that light either. i wasn't trying to do what i did just having a little fun so i didn't keep an eye on my boost gauge. just thought i'd share this w/you guys cause without your help i might not be here, sniff sniff. my allergies are acting up again.

New owner right? Lots of boost launches already? Can I make a prediction?

Might want to do some research on motor rebuilding, you might need it soon.

Huh? TPS spacers?

yeah, bought a new one and it came with spacers. i thought it was weird. i put them on the side with the screws. the center rivet that holds the flip switch thingy that makes contact with the throttle linkage was rubbing. so on acceleration i would get a bad hesitation. no codes no nothing. look under the hood for a bit and the throttle linkage was returning all the way back, but the tps thingy was not. so i put the spacers between the intake and the tps and BAM!

man, you guys can rag on me all you want, i know what i'm talking about! nah, just kidding. i accept all replies>negative and positive.

the part was duralast-as that was the only one they (autozone) showed to have.

was gonna try to look for a performance type, but didn't think that would matter or make a difference or if they even offer one.

also, they are tear shaped. they conform to the shape of the screw hole and surrounding area

Maybe bushings that go inside the hole so that if you overtighten the screws you don't smash the crap out of the mounting holes?

i thought i had over-tightened at first so i backed the screws out a little and it changed nothing. that's when i swapped the spacers to the back (between the intake and tps) side

Weird. I've never seen spacers.
Maybe they are just replacement washers?

On the screw you should have the screw, a split-lock washer & then a flat washer. Both washers are captive on the screw. Are your spacers the same size & thickness as the captive flat washers on the original screws?

yeah. i know it's confusing w/out pics. i've bought a tps b4 and no spacers. without the spacers it was rubbing against the throttle linkage and not returning all the way back at idle producing a hesitation

i always thought that when the V clutch is shot. it doesn't act like a clutch anymore and strarts to go 1 on 1 without compansating slip. and the truck starts to act like a 4wd.
no?
