I am patiently awaiting the return of my Sy. 11-11 works for me, but I sure would like to find a date lots of peeps are down with. 11-18 is Midnight Madness at San Antonio raceway. It would be cool to do a meet in Austin area, and then roll down to the races...

That's sounds like a good plan. Servando has pulled his truck out of storage and should be able to make it to the SA race track.

I guess I better get the last few details done on Daron's ride and bring it down.

It has been fun driving it though, instead of working on it.

290 miles to the track. it's workable..just need to get the tune down. Pointless to drive to a track and not run.

Re: Texas Meeting - Winter

I just checked their website and there is only Grudge/Street legal racing Friday night. Saturday is bracket racing.

Thats why I posted the 18th of November as a possible date, since that is a Midnight Madness night.

Re: Texas Meeting - Winter

Is this more of a meet than a drag racing event? Just double checking so I can get the time off from work.
Who all is going so far?
I'm confused...Is this in Austin or San Antonio??

Here is my earlier discussion:

So, to answer your question:
It depends on what peeps want. It can be a just a meet or it can have a dragstrip run included. As far as locations it can be one, or both. Some people may just want to meet up in Austin and then go home. I wouldnt mind hanging out in Austin for the "meet" part and then roll down to the dragstrip in San Antonio for some Midnight Madness. However, thats just a suggestion and since I dont have the facilities in Austin to host a gathering I can't act on my own suggestion. I was hoping someone here would think it was a good idea and execute... I am open for anything really, as long as we get to hang out and B.S...

where is the sa raceway at? austin is 2.5 hours, SA is 6

The track is an hour drive from downtown Austin.
SA is only an hour drive from Austin.
I used to live in McQueeney, 5 mi from the track .

Re: Texas Meeting - Winter

I'm personally more inclined to just meet up with the peeps...ones that we already know and hopefully a few of the many that we have yet to meet. I get more out of the social aspect of it (swapping ideas, show and tell, bitching about broken stuff...etc).

For me, racing would be better with more advanced notice. Mods in progress and motor is still on the stand. Wont have it tuned in time.

My vote would be for Austin if Bruce's invitation is still open. I'll bring my Nats vids.

Re: Texas Meeting - Winter

Did we decide on a date and location? If not at some ones place then we should probably call up a hooters or something soon. If we need a place with a big driveway or land or something my place is open.

How's it coming on the mods? I'm still waiting on parts from various vendors. 11-11-06 is not looking good for me. I'm thinking sometime in 1-2007...the weather should still be cooler & this will give some members a little more time to get there trucks in order.:eh:
