Just because he's not as big of a syty enthusiast as you or I? It just seems a little premature.
Not at all.Dude made like 73 post in 3 days, then all of the sudden clammed up for no reason? I doubt it.I bet he found out that the info cannot be found. :2cents:

Maybe GM got mad at him for doing this on the their time? Sounds to me like they're secretive as hell with the warehouse and all....just a thought...

Hopefully he doesn't come back here and read everyone running him down. He'd probably say " %&#@ you all. " and be gone forever. :squint:

I hope he comes back.

I wonder if he ended up getting the white '92 Ty..:?

That's the same thing I was wondering. Even more so, did any of the forum members go to look at it with him. I found it hard to believe early in this thread that someone 30 years old has access to so much of GM's "hidden" files when senior exec's can't get the data??? I am optimistic he will post again but I am also a realist (remember Murphy), if it sounds too good to be true..........

Not trying to flame the guy,BUT

These questions have been unanswered for years.Guys with connections have tried their best to get the info with no luck.Someone unknown with no history is gonna just show up and know all the answers?

It could happen. But it hasn't yet,and even if someone did post some numbers, would they just blindly be accepted as fact?

To the best of my knowledge, nobody has been contacted to verify existance of a 9 mile typhoon.

I wish him the best of luck.

Now my post 3-4 weeks ago may begin to make some sense.

This entire thread brings to mind a quote Ronald Reagan once said; "Trust but Verify". I'm hopeful elvisinturn1 can produce some quantitative answers tomorrow or Tuesday regarding SyTy's because Merk, Adam and a host of others are eagerly awaiting the information.......and me too! This is the kind of thread that makes a hungry dog growl :).

I trust he is who he said he was but he has not, to date, produced any substance regarding Sy/Ty's to begin to convince me yet. I just found it ironic some were dishing out VIN's hand over fist to a guy that pop's up out of no-where. He recommends all these tech's with knowledge or involvement with the Sy/Ty project he alledgedly works with but yet comes to this forum asking about Typhoon values. I sniffed poo-poo from the start.........I sure hope my nose is malfunctioning.

Elvis does have a life outside of SyTys. He is a busy person. This board and getting SyTy VIN info is not a priority or does it pay his bills.

If he can get the info, with everyone questioning and doubting him, Im not surprized he wouldnt post again.... Id be turned off too with the onslaught of everyone pestering and asking questions. The guy was getting personal emails through his work account...and he didnt even post that sort of info!

Just so everyone can relax, I'll call him this weekend and catch up and see if he was able to make any spare time to do research. This is a no pressure deal...he doesnt have to do any of this...he offered.

Patience does pay off.

Re: SyTy Secrets, REVEALED!

Has anybody thought to consider GM did not manufacture or produce these trucks, PAS did and when they closed all the paperwork and records went with them? These trucks were recorded at GM as incomplete chassis. so thats about all the records they will have. I know higher up then an engineer have looked into things and hit a dead end.

LOL.... you guys are worse than my kid :rotf: Can't wait for Christmas.

Anyways, sorry for the delays guys. I had to go down to Kokomo, IN for a few days and straighten some things out for work.

To answer your questions:

1. "Real" exec's don't do anything but sign paperwork and talk. If they were actually going to help you find out information, they wouldn't do more than make a phone call and tell someone else to do it. They have a sinking company to worry about.

2. I didn't forget you guys. There is ALOT of data from engineering regarding these vehicles. Plus, there are alot of missing links that have to be followed up on to verify authenticity. If I get a VIN that doesn't make sense, then I have to call 3 dept.'s and trail it back all the way. So, this is literally like a full blown audit.

3. How much longer is it going to take? Not sure. The only way I can explain the "searching" of this data is like trying to sort out how many red cherrio's are in a box of cherrio's. The problem is, we have some pink one's, and they don't belong. Were they red and just lost some color? See what I'm getting at?

4. "They" know I'm doing this. They are happy someone is doing it because nobody wants to and actually it needed to be done anyways just for records sake. As long as this whole thing doesn't interfere with my normal daily activites at work, there's no problems.

5. YES, I left partial payment on the Typhoon. No, I don't have it home yet. I haven't had time to go thru everything and have it checked out so it can be moved. Portions of it need to be reassembled. As soon as it's in my garage, I'll post up some pictures.

6. I'm not some "engineer." I'm the Senior Engineering Supervisor, Engineer I, Infotainment and Body Electronics Division. My supervisor is the dept. head, whom reports to the Vice President of NA Operations.

Whew.....
