Thought it is time I started my build thread for Syclone 934. I purchased this truck from my best friend Len (STOUT74) in July of 2010. I have been slowly working on it since then, as money and time will allow, or if we're not working on his truck.
Len bought the truck for the Stokes Stroker motor that was in it. It was built for this truck bet never ran.
My initial intention was to rebuild Lens old motor, get it to good running condition and it would be my eldest son's first car. Well one thing led to another, as you will see in future posts, my son is now driving a 95 Grand Am GT.This has become a complete frame off restoration. I will update this as I download pics to Photobucket.
The good about the truck:
45K original miles
Excellent body, no rust or dents, nothing was ever put in the bed
Excellent cladding
Excellent interior
The Bad:
It came from Michigan and the frame and suspension looked like it had been in the ocean.

Here are pics back when we got it.


Len shows up with a truck load of parts.


Gave it a good clean up, it had been sitting outside for a long time.

At this point I was going to leave the cab on and clean and paint the suspension and frame the best I could and get the truck running.


And then this happened.



Off to sandblast and paint.

Pics of rolling chassis, everything has been detail sand/bead blasted and painted. All new suspension parts.

And now on to the Motor.

Stock SyTy block .030 over (parallel decked and balanced 2 bolt main)
Stock Crank
L2441 Pistons
Eagle H-Beam rods
412 Comp Cam

Heads installed.
Crane 11-1.5 Roller Rockers
Comp Cams 850-12 roller lifters
Arp Head and Rockers Studs
Cometic Head Gaskets
Comp Cams 7608 Push Rods
Beehive Springs
Titanium Retainers (made here at the shop)


Springs set to 140 at the seat with 290 over the nose.


Made my own adjustable push rod guide plates. Made of 48-52rc S-7 tool steel, wire EDM'd out and cnc chamfered .187 thick. No sharp edges to cut the push rods.

I think this pretty much gets me up to date, I'm in process of port and polishing the lower intake. Now I have this thread going I will update as I progress.

U should have buy syclone in Reno. I got mine for 4500 in Reno and hauled it to iowa

Finished porting my lower intake.

First I welded around the injector bungs.



Then blended the welds.



Next was CNC the ports and machine all sealing surfaces flat.



Here is pic with an injector in before and after machining.

Also welded the EGR port closed.



Then a lot of hand porting and this is the final product.

Next I will paint it Aluminum grey and install.

Finished my solid motor mounts.

Billet 6061 Aluminum with Nitronic 60 SS inserts.



4130 solid steel frame pads.



Assembled on the motor.
