Sy vs.72 nova worked

Met a friend of mine at a parking lot car meet who I used to work with. His engine is a 383 and made naturally aspirated 570 hp in front of me on my engine dyno at work when he built it. His car weighs 3000lbs or so, m/t drag radials, weld pro lites, 9in rear, slapper bars, drag springs, worked auto w/ race converter, 6 pt cage. Dont know what my truck makes but mods are in sig. I was running 17lbs boost with a very safe tune with 112. Long story short, We both left on a 123 count. I left him by about 2 car lengths out of the hole. his nova is known locally to leave off the line really well for a rwd car on the street. By my 3-4 shift he was at my door and passing me. He got me by about a car and a half by 125 mph or so. Now here comes my excuses :D I raced in drive, never manual shifted so my shift points were lower than they should have but I didnt want to hurt anything reving to high as the tune isnt 100% yet.
So I got killed
He agreed to race again when my truck is 100% and pushing between 20-25lbs. Then hopefully I'll have a "killed a nova" thread
