This was my favorite truck at homecoming last year, It is plain awesome. What are you going to to with the white ZR1's wheels that were on it? I would be interested if you decide to sell them.

love the wheels and on a white truck they should really pop

Thanks guys, I'm trying to keep the trucks color scheme flowing smoothly through out the entire truck! Imo its all about the accents, I think in any build the accent color shows detail.

I cant wait to see this done!!!!!!

Thanks! starting to get pretty close, or so I think.

Just got some motivation to go outside and do some stuff on my truck.

Happy I could help! bring that truck to Nationals so I can see it in person!!

great build can't wait to see it done:tup:

them I wish I could do work like that he is really handy keep up the good work

Thanks for the love guys!

im dyeing to see them wheels go on especially being in the market for some seeing all the sets of wheels gives me options

Sad part is I probably wont have them all that long haha. these will be for sale by summer end for sure! No doubt though ill have tons of pictures of them on the Sy before that happens though.

Seriously thank you, Means a lot. Happy you guys can like the truck and what the way that I'm building it! As for the white ZR1's, as of right now there my rolling spares and track wheels but they will probably be making their way onto my fathers Sonoma Gt project whenever we start that! If I decide to sell ill PM ya.

any thought to painting the SP1's center's gold?

I've got about 10 different color/refinished variations of possible ways the wheels may turn out like, gold centers have def been considered. there either going to get very expensive and crazy or stay simple and clean. ill keep it at that for now!

Evening Fellas!

Had a little time on my Saturday to get a few things done on the truck!

Before I forget here's a few pictures showing the fitment of the SSR's on my truck, imo the fitment is basically perfect, the wheels could be a tad wider on the inside for my liking though. With that said ill keep looking for some wider barrels for the future!

So on to my Saturday, I started off taking pictures of my oil filter set up, lower rad hose and my A/C lines that I made as promised.

I decided to spend a day at work and paint some stuff for the truck!

I've always hated the "satin black" inner fenders. I color matched the top of my rad support because theres way too much satin black on our trucks factory, plus I thought it would help make the engine bay more modern looking and give it that different look I was going for! So I decided to give my inner fenders the same treatment!

It may be too much white whenever I bolt them in, however if it is they'll go back to satin black! How they looked...

I hit them with a red scotch brite pad and then taped off the inner portion for paint!

Right before I sprayed them!

And after some color and a short bake cycle :D

Needed to get my new front brake setup under way so I focused on the new front calipers today! bought some new remanufactured 2001 4x4 blazer/jimmy calipers. Hit them with 3 coats of primer this week, let them sit until Saturday. Sanded these pain in the ass calipers and set them up to get sprayed!

2 coats of Peach Cobler again!

3 coats of 24K gold pearl!

And then cleared them at the same time with a friends set of wheels.

Next project is to prep the faces! The lips ill be sanding and getting rid of any imperfections hopefully this week if I can find some time! As for the barrels, they will be getting sent for sand blasting this week!

Take care guys!

The A/C compressor is powder coated black, it came as part of the March Pulley's system that I bought and my kit is the black powder coated finish. I'll have to do some digging through my notes and find the details on the A/C compressor and let you know!

Thank you! I'm up for the challenge! It will be my daily drive from May-November every year.

Thanks you for the support! The color change was a lot of work, but ive pretty happy with the outcome.

Small update guys!

My new tires arrived and I had to bring them up to the shop so I planned some time get a few things done, every step helps!

My A/C accumulator had the classic dings and shitty looking engraving marks....which pissed me off. So I spent about and hour sanding this and getting it looking the way I wanted. Was going for that "brushed" look.

Sanded out the major bumps and bruises starting with 80 Gritt sand paper and sanded all the way back to 320 Gritt. Then finally hit it with a red scotch brite!

Got my lower rad finished up after getting the clamps coated!

Installed my inner fenders, wanted to see how they would look, I love the look of them, its very different then the factory satin black. Either way, opinions welcome....

Finally, my dad stumbled upon on very nice condition LS2 intake manifold when he was in Carslile PA last weekend for a steal of a deal! So this will be going on eventually! I've read that these are a hell of a bolt on improvement to a LS1 and the HP gains are very impressive. So we'll have to see.

Talk to you guys soon,

Re: Sy #2875 Build :eh:

I think the white inner fenders give the bay a cleaner look, great job

Man, i really, really like this truck!!!!!Awesome job!

Thanks Guys!! :D

So its been a few weeks and I've really been trying to finish this thing up! Still a ways to go but i'm so close!

First things first, I took apart the front brake/hub/spindle assembly and packaged it up!

Somewhere in between test fitting the new setup...

and finished!

Finally got my 90 degree silicone elbow mounted up to my throttle body so I could start making the intake..

After that I put my vette rollers on and proceeded to push it over to where the hoist was in the other bay.. this is where I totally fell inlove all over again and stopped and had a mini photoshoot in the late afternoon!

I'll let the photos goo for a bit....

Oh yeah, Got the exhaust all fitted finally and tacked up!

Wasn't happy with my upper radiator hose after the second version so I took it apart again. I had cut these two pieces of pipe you can see in the center section and had a friend weld it up! came out great. Its not exactly how I wanted it but im happy enough to leave it for the summer!

Then came the mess where my fabbed up and painted rad cover interfered with my intake elbow. So I started trimming.

Still had more to go! So I trimmed it more and fitted it again and again. Finally I was happy with this.

Had some spare pieces of aluminum laying around and didn't want to just leave the rad cover cut without a nice finished rolled edge on it. So I trimmed up two pieces to add to the rad support cover. Had them welded after fitting them!

After that I figured out where I wanted the exhaust tips to sit behind my roll pan. My father and I put the bos back on, trimmed the exhaust tips and after that I pulled the exhaust off that hadn't been fully welded and had it welded up!

Got the exhaust back the next morning and put it back on! the exhaust was a huge final part of the build, getting it to work was very difficult but it worked out great! Welded up and looking great!

Got my rad cover back aswell, one of the guys at work primed it for me which was awesome. Sanded it that night and painted it textured satin black.

looked pretty good when it was done

after that we checked everything underneath on the hoist, mounted up the tranny cooler (forgot to take pictures of that however I will). Loaded up the diff, transfer case, trans and engine with fluids and finished some final things off.

My father and I loaded up the Sy on the trailer to take it to a friend of my fathers. It will remain there for a few weeks so that he can help me out with the wiring. Longstory short when I get it back it should be firing over :tup:

That's all for now guys!
