Sun Visor Fix

1) Remove the sun visor. Should be 3 Phillips head screws and one quick disconnect wire. I had to wiggle the connector out the hole to disconnect it.

2) I used a stainless steel 3/8 ID, 5/8 OD, washer. It was 1/16 thick.

3) I used a pair of bolt cutters and cut 1/4 out of the washer.

4) Using a flat head screwdriver. I pried the "visor spring washer" up and installed my new washer between the "Visor spring washer" and the visor housing.

5) I reinstalled the visor into the truck and did a couple boost launches with the visors down. This is the most fun part of this install. My visors stayed put so I did not have to install a 2nd washer.

Re: Sun Visor Fix

Thanks, It was a quick fix, about 10 minutes to do them both. I will post again in about a week letting you know how it is holding up. So far it is working as it should. But it has only been a day. :) My original Visors where so loose, Regular driving would cause them to rotate. I guess I just got tired of getting slaped in the face.

It has been 6 months. The visors are still working properly.

Just did this today on the Ty and took a whopping 30 minutes.. I even ground a flat on each side of the opening of the washer so I could pinch the washer around the shaft.. That way it will never get pushed off the shaft..

Visors are much tighter now and it also helped them tuck up more against the headliner when they are in the closed position..

Thanks Jason!!

Good idea. Mine does not have the visor spring washer. possibly I can add two offsetting washers? Made on Monday or Friday? Thank You.

Neither did mine... That's why I ground a flat on either side of the washer, so I could pinch it around the shaft..
