I find it amazing that thieves can break into these trucks so fast.

Recently I locked my keys in my truck (In my driveway) so I said hell I'm paying for AAA, have them get my keys out. As if-

So this clown shows up from a local towing co. with a bag of wires/wedges and gadgets. Goofs off for a good hour before I said enough. (He was scratching up the interior with his wires.)

Then he goes to call his boss, by the time he gets back I broke into my own truck with his gadgets. Then he says I have to sign a waiver that they will not be responsible for any damages. Then has the balls to tell his boss that he "got in".

Sure enough I went to roll down the pass. window and it gets hung up on something.

Good that they recovered it so soon, or over time it would have been picked clean. consider yourself lucky.

Personally, I wouldn't dream off driving a nice 'phoon into any city. An ounce of prevention....

Well, not to piss you off Morgan - but you are lucky ;)

Mine got stolen downtown Chicago. 4:30 in the afternoon. Bright, sun-filled sky. Parked on a busy street. Around the same time many people are getting off work - walking to their cars. I am lucky I got my Ty back. I am glad I got my Ty back. I am lucky it wasn't stripped. I am lucky my insurance was paid up. It could have been a lot worse then it was. Mine was worse then Morgan's. There are many others who haven't gotten their trucks back. If I didn't get mine back - I probably was gonna get a Lightning ;)

Glad to hear its back without MAJOR damages (ie-smashed into a tree as well as the damages it has). I am an Insurance Appraiser. Let me know if you feel you are getting the run around from your ins. co. I'd be happy to help get things straight.
On the subject on stealing cars quickly.
(Edit) Sorry, we all know these trucks are easy to steal. There's no sense in putting this info on the web for all to read. (end edit)

Morgan, let me know if there is anything I can do. Peace.

on my car i have pressure plates. Retards tried to steal both my cars at the time at the same time. They got neither. they tried everything including ripping out my fuse box.

I'm glad you got your Ty back with minor[?] damage. It's still depressing to say the least! I had an 86 GN With 21,000 mi stollen back in 1990. It came back totalled. They trashed the car-dumped oil all over the interior broke all the glass and scratched thier names in the paint F**kin A**holes! A veryb traumatic experience. Good luck with the repairs.

pressure plates complete your ignition circuit. You can have as many as you want but you need to be able to hit them in sequence.

Anyone on here know how to make a "ghost switch"? What a ghost switch does is prevents your car from being started unless a certain thing is done before you turn the key. Example- holding down one of the power window switches while turning the key. or- pushing in the cig lighter. Something like that.

UMM i do. i used to have to push my cig lighter in to start. The pressure plates are cheap like 1.00 cheap.

Dont worry, I have ideas for about 5 things Im changing or doing. Its getting a new alarm system, with friggin sensors on everything. 3 kill switches, 1 ghost switch that was suggested by the bodyshop, plus a friggin Club, and see what else Brian suggests. Granted they can still get through alot of alarms ect, if I put enough shit on there, hopefully they will give up next time.....

You know what'll stop a thief right in his tracks BEFOREhe breaks in and tries to start your ride? NO STEERING WHEEL!!!! I got a Grant removable wheel on my truck with a locking column end cap. Can't steal it with no wheel on the column. And the wheel has the spline on it so you can't use a wrench to steer it either. That and my Ultimate on SEC setting locked down and my truck is ALWAYS right where I left it.

P.S. It also helps to have a really crappy paint job too - hehehehehe

Ya should get one of those clubs that sends out an electric shock and knocks the thief on his ass.
