Morgan, glad to hear its back (found) so quick. Hopefully its just the stereo & steering column damage (they need to defeat the steering lock to turn the wheel). Rebuilding the column is a piece of cake (if you have done them before). With no disrespect to you Morgan, just some advice from experience (16 years worth). If someone hears your stereo while you are at a traffic light, they know you have something. If they want it, they will follow you around. Learn where you live/visit/hang out. They will learn your schedule. They will steal your vehicle and take your stuff or at the minimum (depends on where it is parked, what time it is ect...) break in and take your stuff. An experienced thief can be gone with most GM cars in a matter of minutes with minimal hassle. Believe me, I jamb the tunes (and sing quite loudly) but always turn it down at traffic lights. It's not foolproof, but it seems to help. BTW, I'm an Insurance Appraiser. I write damage estimates and do investigations on stolen vehicles (as well as just about anything that gets damaged). I state the aforementioned opinion based on my experience and information obtained from various police departments and investigators. Do not wish this type of stuff to happen to anyone, but shit happens.
