SRT vs. TY or SY

Has anyone ran any SRT 4s??

Im not here to bash on you guys or your trucks. If I could have gotten a loan for one and found one that was not hammered on I would have got a TY or SY in a heartbeat. I have a SRT now and was just wondering how they pair up to these beasts of trucks.

Please be honest on your kills and remember Im NOT here to bash.

I was just a bit faster then a stock 2004 srt4 with my pontiac GTP (mod 300hp). My sy is faster. The srt 4 responds well to mods. for the price they are fast little cars. the srt4 are in the high 13's low 14's.

what you have to look out for is that the sy/ty's can pull hard on the launch...but if you have bigger horsepower, you will catch them, with a vengeance I might add

I had an intake and exhaust and took one up to about 90mph, but the kid didnt know what he was racing and decided he would do a little smoke show before he "whooped up on me" when all he saw was a tailgate he realized his mistake but at 90 mph he drove by me like I was in reverse :) It was pretty cool actually

not all syty's perform the same, there are a few lucky ones out there that are pure beasts in stock form.

i ran one like two weeks ago from a 30mph roll and we stayed even till 85-90 and we got off it. he wasnt stock had open d/p and i could hear his bov. my truck isnt stock either but runs stock times 13.5(my best out of my only 2 attempts ever, hopefully gunna be alot quicker w/ all the parts i got comming).

Thanks for the positive feedback......

Mine is not stock it has a 3" turbo back exhaust w / no cat dumped, and the wonderful spring mod ( whick is basicly a ghetto mod) Im boosting 19 spike and holding 15 to redline. When it was completly stock had it dynoed before any mods for a base and it put down 230 WHP and 247 TQ all stock. I was very impressed needless to say. I still need to get another dyno done to see what Im putting down now.

As far as kills not much has seen the front end of my car none the less. These cars are f-in quick in the stock form. Lightnings, Z-28, cobras, and T/As are no match. I would really like some good runs and I figured the only 2 vehicles I could think of would be the Typhoon and the Syclone. If any body in the DFW area would like to meet up I would love the chance to see how I would pair against the only real competition <<dont know if I spelled that right but oh well. Let me know.

Ive raced atleast 5 or 6 of them. Some modded and some not. I raced a stage 1 recently and beat him by about 2 cars. 4 to 5 out of the hole. My truck is not stock but not wild either. Minimal mods. Stock ones just cant touch me at all. Last winter when my truck was all stock I raced a stock SRT4 with a known good driver and it was worse than my current set up against the stage 1. I had about 5-6 cars on him out of the hole and about 3 at the 1/4. Maybe 4. Now from a roll when my truck was stock I could only hang for a little bit from say 30-60 then Ild get wasted. Now, I can hang til about 80 or so form a roll.

I ran a friend of a friend's, the kid had no idea what my old school extreme had for him. We raced for I would say an 1/8th of a mile if that and it was over from the get go. Cars are pretty sweet performance wise for the money but I think there seats suck

I ran my friends stock vs stock. I didn't launch hard and I'm guessing he didn't either b/c I had atleast 4-5 car lengths out of the whole and kept it to about 75 before letting off.

Its best to get em from a dig, most of em wanna race from a roll b/c I hear those things are hard to launch.

I like the SRT-4's (which will be built no more),but they are no match stock for stock with a good running Sy or Ty .
I took a couple of SRT-4 guys for a ride,and they were like "Thanks for showing us how slow our cars are" :D

Your joking, right? I will pay you to show me a video of a stock SRT4 beating a Stock same-year Cobra. Sorry, not going to happen. I do know of a Taurus in the DFW area that could be considered "real competition" for ya...Im sure he would be glad to issue a complementary beating anytime you want.

Never said I made those kills stock or what year cobras :rant: ......also the new gt rustangs are slow as hell. I have not met up with a SC cobra yet but the day will come.

Or an LS1 Camaro or T/A. My friend has an 04 and it is NO match for my Z28.

Lets put it this way I was with my friend one night he had his SRT-4 and I was in the Sy we ran into a 98SS 99Z28 and like a 89 and 92 foxbody. Even from a roll we were all walking away from my friends neon and I remember the Z28 was hopping the front end behind him trying to get him to move out of the way. I don't believe a SRT-4 will run with a LS1 or a Cobra either.
