Sputtering at WOT

I have a sputtering at WOT. I just installed new:

Cap
Rotor
Wires
Plugs
Dutchy Intercooler
Underdrive Pulleys
Johnson Coolant Pump
& Gutted the Cat

After install I get a sputtering at WOT, It does not feel like a misfire to me but…
Idles fine and revs up fine, while driving it runs fine until I get above about 70% throttle and it sputters and it RPM gains slower.
Ran 100% before install. Rechecked wires to see if any were not on tight but all were fine.

Any Ideas?

Detonation to me sounds like a lite pinging in the motor. Sounds and feels like a lite misfire and you can hear a sputtering? Not just 2-1 downshift WOT, but even off the line.

Your thoughts?

wrong plugs? wrong cap?
i had a bad cap and rotor once, brand new gave me the same problem sound like ignition related

I used the MSD Cap & Rotor part number 5503
NGK UR6 Plugs
Taylor 8mm Pro Series Spiro Pro Wires

How did it run before you did those mods? if you have the stock chip and no cat it will overboost

yeah, yeah, don't correct me on language...hahah
gapped. they ain't right out of the box.. 0.32 or so stock truck and 15psi.

I would still be weary of that gutted cat if the rest of your truck was not ready for it. Ask Brian Green how he got his brothers Syclone so cheap....

Hint: Gutted cat + stockish truck =Kaboom

Just because you don't "hear" it, doesn't mean it isn't present.

I think I also remember reading here in some old posts about MSD caps not playing nice with sytys. Can't say for certain though...

Will a Blow Off Valve in the up pipe (turbo to intercooler pipe) fix an potential overboost problem?

Fuel pump? AFPR? Did you upgrade either of these? I have an ultimate and any time I went over 15psi it would sputter and fall on it's face. Put in an afpr and walboro 255 and viola all fixed.

Easy way to check if it is ignition related is to watch the tach while it is doing the sputtering. If the tach is jumping around a little then it is probably plug, wires, cap/rotor, coil related.

my experiance with overbooting is that the truck just cuts out and dies for a few seconds, not sure how that chip deals with it though. IF you still have the old stuff (cap, ect) you could try to put them back on, and see if your truck runs better, help narrow it down anyway.
