Re: RPM Coilover help with PICS

Re: RPM Coilover help with PICS

I replaced my busted poly bushings today!! As i stated before, I have less than 100 miles on them. Here are some pics i thought it would make this thread make more sense to some people that dont have coil overs yet.. The lessen here is order them with steel not poly!!!

Here is the smashed poly bushing!!

Re: RPM Coilover help

COM8T-102PK is the correct PN for the steel/race spherical bearings, which replace the poly graphite ones that are supplied with the shocks (from the QA1 factory).

If anyone is having trouble or would like to upgrade, the cost is $27.50 per shock. All you have to do is remove the shock, pop out the clips and slide in the new bushings.

FYI, Summit also has the for $29.99 but they are never in stock.

Re: RPM Coilover help

I will have it added to the shopping cart as an option. If you place the order by phone just request them and you'll pay an extra $55. I'm not sure why so many people are having issues but it always helps when I know about certain issues vs having to find various threads with complaints. I dont believe any one of you guys called me with any complaints or concerns. While it may not change the way the kit is sold (or maybe well just raise the base price to reflect the upgrade) I do understand the inconvenience of repair and would like to warn fellow purchasers or give them the option of upgrading without it trying to sound like I want to squeeze another $50 from their pocket. Has anyone actually tried to contact HAL/QA1 to see what the deal is?

Re: RPM Coilover help

Mike I called QA1 they told me it due to the whey the shock is angled. It puts a ton of Pressure pushing towards the rear on the top of the shock.Thats the way mine blew out. Sounds like BS but thats what the told me. I sent them pics of the kit installed. I think the fact that im running limiters speeded up the process. I love the Coil over kit but having to remove it and re shim the shocks with those tiny ass spacers is HELL.. Id raise the price and include the steel bushings. Joe home wrencher would be cursing the shit out of those things if he had to swap them out in his driveway...

Re: RPM Coilover help

this makes me laugh, turbotime and I resolved this problem almost 2 years ago..

nice to see others finally catching up.

we figured out why it fails and qa1 is right but it has more to do with extenstion than compression.
