Rotor to rotor width of ZR2 Rear

I need this info if anyone actually has one and could measure the width of this rear end from the mounting surface to mounting surface of the rotors, not the back plate or w/o rotors, has to be on the rear. If anyone has this info or can get it I would really appreciate it.

I have an S-10 ZR2, but I'm not sure what exact measurements you are looking for. Can I measure it without jacking it up? Let me know and I'll see if I can crawl under there...

Re: Rotor to rotor width of ZR2 Rear

The measurement I am looking for is if the tires were off, the rotors were installed with maybe a lug to keep them straight, where the wheel would mount up to the rotor to the same thing on the other side. I can post a pic of a rear and mark where I am talking about if that doesnt make sense.

its 4 inches wider than a stock 4x4 and 8 inches wider than a stock 2wd

Thats just not going to work here, I really need the inches, I have seen 4/5 different sources on the internet with the "same" rear and they almost all measured out different. Very little info on this out there.

98 and newer rears come with disc brakes
these rears are 3.9" wider than a normal 4x4 rear

2WD Rear 54-3/8"
4x4 Rear 58-3/8"
ZR2 62-3/8"

If I had any money Ild probably send you a reward  Seriously though, thanks for the info. I measured mine last night at 59" from drum surface. So if 62" is the ZR2 then I coudl use that with my Z06 wheels and not have to run a spacer anymore and it SHOULD look normal? I have 1" spacers so hopefully a 1/2" wont be ridiculous. If so, I guess I could look at it as a good excuse to do Geiger style cladding  Reason why I was bent on with or without rotor is because you dont mount your wheels on the hub, you mount it to the rotor, well over the rotor you know what I mean IM sure.

Re: Rotor to rotor width of ZR2 Rear

Yep, I picked up a ZR2 rear a few years ago for the exact same reason. Just haven't gotten around to swapping it in yet. I'm 99% sure that those measurements are taken from mounting surface to mounting surface(As I was interested in the same measurement) but if you want I can double check this weekend.

One negative to this rear is that they only came in 3.73:1(I think thats the ratio) so you will need to swap the ring & pinion gears to 3.43:1.

Re: Rotor to rotor width of ZR2 Rear

to use the zr2 you need to either
1 change fron ratio to 3:73
2 charge rear ring and pinon, and carrier or get the thicker 3:42 ring gear

Good info, thanks Ken.

Re: Rotor to rotor width of ZR2 Rear

Is the ZR2 an 8.5" rear?

I thought there was a post listing all of the 8.5s that would bolt right up at one time.

Re: Rotor to rotor width of ZR2 Rear

Dont suppose anyone knows if it is worth having it shortened an inch on both sides? I want to really just get one, put hte tires on it and dummy it in place just to see how it looks and if I could deal with it. From the measurements you guys supplied, it sounds like it may look ok.
