I just got 3 different quotes on a carry out rebuild w/ tcc from 3 reliable shops around my area. $995, $800, and $725. Do these sound right or is it too good to be true?

I have owned it for 10 yrs and haven't really done anything with it. It has 143k on it and I am the 3rd owner. Right now, It won't move until it has warmed up. It I try to move it cold, it just revs and it feels like riding a clutch. There is no burning smell, but has a leak coming from the front. If I can avoid a rebuild to get back on the road I'd like to. It has been garaged for 4 years now. It used to be my daily driver until this happened one day when my wife was driving it. It has a real hard time shifting when warm and it won't go into od. Can this be fixed or is a rebuild my only option?
