turbo time do a rear coilover?

they are a coil over type of shock, different than what your thinking. still uses the leafspings but it helps so you don't bottom out or bounce all over the place when you hit an odd bump in the road.

LOL I have them on mine and if you set them up incorrectly.. you will bounce like a MOFO. I initially had the spring a little too tight. I thought I was driving an import boucning down the road. E-rue told me how to fix it and now it is dang tight and very little bounce(still have a little more adjustment to do to them to work the bounce out). They work killer and look awesome too

Re: Rear suspension?

It's been done with much success...handles and corners like it's on rails. Bites great too...

I believe that was the PEP rear kit.. it wasn't bolt-in and it wasn't cheap.. and its not made anymore

WindedV6 rear suspension was made by Competition Engineering Suspension.

Your right about the price, though. PEP did make a 4 link suspension but they are very rare (I think its approx 4 or 5 kits, the price was $2295). They are sort of discontinued as PEP and SyTy Owners had a fall out.

I stand corrected.

So is windedv6's kit still made? Or was it custom for him?

It was custom made and I think he is the only one currently with that setup. The are a big operation, It maybe able to made into a kit. You would have to ask them or John (WindedV6) top see what the feasibility is.

Re: Rear suspension?

It's not a PEP kit. It's a Competition Engineering Chassis kit adapted. It's really not all that bad to do. My chassis builder did it fairly easily. I had a bolt in link kit before this, but it was junk. The bars were to short, little no adjustment, it bottomed out...and had no traction. In this setup, my chassis guy used longer bars and moved the instant center forward. This was a big help in keeping the front down while allowing more weight on the rear. I love it and it handles great.

The shocks go in the pockets for the orginal shocks. He did put a reinforcement plate up in the pocket. he cleaned off some stock brackets and welded in a cross bar. He also boxed in some of the frame to strengthen it. If you ever had it done you would never go back to a leaf setup. I can't put a price on the costs as I had him do a lot of other things to the truck at the same time, but here are most of the parts:

Link Bars
Cross member
Panhard bar
QA1 Shocks
Springs
Shock Mount Kit

I had to tweek the ATR exhaust slightly and used a Borla XR-1 muffler. Worked out great.

XR-1 12" oval muffler

I am sure the the guy that did mine would do more. He is getting to like these trucks (I hope) as he is doing my complete tube chassis Ty build as well as another Sy project I have in the works.

Windedv6 - thanks for the parts list. Could I borrow your guy for a week and get him to fly over here with all the bits and put it on for me :D
