Re: PST CF Driveshaft...mmm :)

More than $800, less than $1000. I'm picking the RPM chromoly crossmember/loop up from the powdercoating shot tomorrow. Will post a few pics of that when I get it home. Looks like this thing might breathe fire again after all

No, maybe 5 lbs. at most? I know Phil Long is/was running one of these. Didn't seem to hurt his 60' times either. Hope I never turn it into an expensive broom.

Any clues as to what kind of hp/tq it's capable of holding up to? Looks like a very nice piece.

It's also rotational mass so it has the same effect as putting a lightweight flywheel in a manual transmission. More power can be transmitted from the engine to the wheels.

Rotating weight is is approx 10x. If you are saving 5 lbs then you are saving the equivelant of 50lb of dead weight. This is why the super stock classes use light weight tranny drums/parts, light drive shafts, gun drilled axles, Light weight flywheels, light balancers, lightened cranks, light wheels, etc. Then they add back the required weight needed for their class in dead weigh somewhere else in the car. If they can save 10# of worth of rotating weight it may be worth the equivelant of 100# saving of dead weight. 100# of dead weight can be a 10th of a sec better off their time.

ya. I know guys, sorry about the price but I'm cutting it as low as I can and still make a dollar on it. I can only pass along the price increases that I'm given...

to those asking how much it can handle. I can only say that it can handle ANYTHING that is on this board. unless your going faster than a 1.0 60' then it's plenty strong for you.
