Those door panels came out great! How much of a PITA was it to swap the 92 Ty leather inserts? I'll be tackling that shortly as I cracked a door panel in my 92 and I'm getting a syclone panel to replace it wirh.

It really wasn't terrible. I don't have a tool to remove the backing nuts, I used a pair of piers. Worked just fine, the trim panel for the switches has PITA clips, those I removed with a small hook tool from the backside. The vinyl paint works great, even on the lower carpet.

A few weeks back I did some serious inside cleaning. Body shop dust is nasty.

Re: Project Tyclone SS: 85 Jimmy, LT1, AWD, etc

I started a new job in January that allowed me more time to be able to apply for a job that I would want. (long story). Well I got hired on a big collision repair company and start next monday. So I have a week off for vacation for myself! Jimmy time! heh

So yesterday my buddy Junior came over and we knocked out a bunch of stuff.

installed high beam swich on cteering column, all lights now work, installed licence plate lights, installed new passenger window motor, both power windows work, power door locks now work, adjusted rear window and tailgate, installed power rear glass popper, rewired fuel pump into ignition....
Installed typhoon center console brackets, console, shifter, etc Now have a working Typhoon shifter. 'Tested power seat and everything works great (thanks Zach). When I bought the truck from Jeff it had a 2nd gen power seat base on the 2nd gen seat with custom brakets to work with a 1st gen S10. I took the seat base off the 1nd gen seat and installed it on the factory Typhoon seat. Sweet!
Removed the grille and started working on oil and tranny cooler placement.
Still need to do A/C condensor somehow.

The center console project

With all the windows closed for the 1st time since paint, I got to do a real wash on it! Even used some tire shine! haha

Still no interior?!?!

You are more than welcome to come help me with it, but I dont dont have much time at all. I was a single guy with no kids when I started the project and self employed. Had a girlfriend with two kids back then but now I have a wife and four kids AND a job that Ive been gone at for 13-14 hours a day often six days a week. No the Jimmy is not my 1st priority these days. But it is this week! heh Couldnt do the interior until the wiring was done, couldnt finish the wiring till my buddy came to help cause itwas a bit out of my knowledge level.

Sigh... one day!

My salvage yard trip yesterday was awesome

IMG_9601_op.jpg

- door spring (lost one), tailgate power actuator (mine is weak), tailgate power wire rubber protector for jamb, front shock bolts (no clue where they are), drivers floor hole plug (lost it), tailgate latch gizmos (something else I'm missing).

A gem in all that crap. power mirror switch (mine went missing)

My score

- Found an old bravada and thought, I wonder if it has the same fog lights as a bravada. Sure enough! Did you know that te fog light harness is completely independent from the engine and lighting harness?!? I didn't! So this plugs into both fog lights, then there are two connectors in the middle, you unplug the headlight and plug the headlight into one end and the headlight harness into the other, connect the headlight ground and then the other end to into the cab to the switch. Awesome! Just like factory! Seriously, that easy! I thought I would have to custom wire something!

So overall it was a great day digging and I got a horrible sunburn. Suck.

Tomorrow I'm gonna start on the carpet!!

Today was carpet day.
IMG_9610_op.jpg

I ran all the wires, filled holes, ran RCAs and stereo wires, then started with the carpet. What a pain!

The start of it. New ACC carpet.
IMG_9630_op.jpg

New GM sill panels.

And my parting shot at night. I hope to finish up the carpet tomorrow.

Yes but my hours are m-f 7am-6pm, and I have a wife and three kids waiting at home. so it's tough to get much done when I'm exhausted and the family wants my attention.

Ok so fast forward two years.... The truck sat so long that the fuel is obviously bad. The fuel lines in the fuel rails have stated leaking, the fuel pimp died and I noticed a crack in the site of the radiator.
- I learned the radiator is a mid 80s vette unit and it is on order
- New black braided fuel lines with black fittings are being made today
- A new MSD fuel pump and fuel filter are on order from Summit
- I drained the nasty fuel out and it's a horrible job.

I plan to get it running soon! I'm feeling motivated again...

2nd gen s10 power seat base. Bolts right on but the mounting brackets had to be rewelded.

Thanks man, I'm about to go work on it now.
