You're kidding, right? "Getting there"? Compared to the photo in your post? He's been there and long, long gone, dude.

Greg, the stance is perfect. Don't change a thing (except adding the hash stripes)..

I'm talking about mine, not his;)

You should paint the red letters gloss black so you will have the chrome accent around the black letters. They would match your wheels perfectly!! I Think that would look hot!!  :headbange Great work man!!

Wow this is looking good. Keep up the hard work. I cant wait to see the finished truck. Are you going to put it on the track and see how fast it is?

Oh Im gonna beat the poop out of it! Its an 85 S15 Jimmy, not a minty rare original Typhoon. I wont feel bad at all about hammering it all over. Whooo!

Oh wait, Im old, married and have 4 kids now. When I started the truck I wasnt even married. sigh, Ill safely beat on it in a controlled environment I suppose.

That's a sharp looking truck. Really digging the Grand Sport theme.

So what was different was the face I removed the wheels. hehe

We cleared them today and they look a lot better. Gloss black wheels with a glossy truck.

The black wheels really make the big brakes stand out more.

I love the glossy rims they look great. The truck keeps getting better looking.

Good job, so what is left to make it driveable again?

Well just off the top of my head...

I still need to install the front bumper cover 100%, install the window belt mouldings, replace the rt door window regulator, both mirrors, install licence plate light, adjust and latch the rear glass/tailgate, finish wiring my headlights and ground them where it makes me happy.

Interior: EVERYTHING. Swap steeping columns, install wiring harness, dash, trim panels, Grant steering wheel, guages, headliner, carpet, wend tabs to the floor for the center console, and install, swap shifters, etc etc

Drivetrain: Mount oil cooler, install trans cooler, install A/C system (compressor in), have exhaust made and installed, check over all bolts and fasteners under truck, alignment, install C-notch, and figure out parking brake.

Oh and get the little doo-dad that makes my 6cyl gauges work with a V8.

So we should see you driving this thing by next week then?

Re: Project Tyclone SS: 85 Jimmy, LT1, AWD, etc

So my most dreaded project of this whole build has begun. The dash and wiring. I HATE the dash and wiring. Ack ack. Especially since it has been 90s and above here in Texas for weeks.
The parts Blazer I bought recently is a 1993 fully loaded 4 door. The harness I would like to use is a 1992 Typhoon (fully loaded 2 door). By taking apart the 93 dash should help me be able to put the dash back in my Jimmy. I will still need the Ty harness for ease of installation. The only differences I know of are...the Ty had power mirrors, fog lights, and keyless entry. The Blazer has rear door power windows and locks.
I noticed a couple weeks ago that the dash in the Blazer has NO cracks in it but its blue. So I plan to paint the dash and install it in the Jimmy instead of the Typhoon dash which has a small crack due to living in Texas its whole life.

Anyway, on to the pictures.

Here is what I started with.

And here is where I am at now.

Doesn't this look like fun?? ack

I got my new red hash marks in. Two sets just in case something happens. lol
I also got my GMC TRUCK MOTORSPORTS on the tailgate. I want the red GMC with white TRUCK MOTORSPORTS, but I may change my mind and go with all white or change out some red letters.
