I have been following this site and before the internet (yes Sonny, there wasn't always an internet) I subscribed to Winstorm Advisor. I bought my 92 Ty new in New jersey in 92. My VIN # ends in 2037.
I used my Ty as a daily driver for a few years but then got transferred overseas and put it into storage. When in the USA I would use the Ty for a few weeks or months - then return it to storage. Now it's been 22-years and I am retired and living in Bellingham, Washington and my Ty needs to go to someone "cooler" than me. I need a "grandpa-mobile" now.
I always thought the truck was fast enough and never modified the engine. I added a Borla cat back exhaust and replaced the turbo but that's about it except for servicing. I concentrated my attention on the comfort and appearance. I added large Baer disk brakes and wide Corvette wheels. I also bought German made Scheel-mann seats and had them upholstered in matching GM black leather. I replaced the front carpets, window mouldings and other bits as they got worn. I always bought the best for my Ty. Especially the stereo systems, of which I have had several. I now have an Alpine digital two amp system 1200W with the heavy JL Audio sub woofers in a removable custom enclosure.
I have the stock Ty seats and radio/CD which I would sell separately.
The truck has 140,701 miles. GM replaced the engine under warranty at 36,000 miles.
Maybe someone out there is too sexy for their truck and wants to trade for mine.
