New owner of a '93 Typhoon, 0662, purchased six months ago with a blown head gasket and lots of neglect. The one thing that got me interested was the fact that although it was in sad shape, it was completely stock. It's currently in the extremely capable nitrile gloved hands of Dan and the guys at GN Northwest, in Everett WA. The old motor/trans are out and NOS motor/trans should be in place soon. This being my first Typhoon, I will be asking a lot of questions as this progresses. So far the GN NW guys are quite a wealth if Typhoon information. Hoping this goes well, as I'm dumping way more than book value into this. But in the end it should be a nice piece, the journey starts here...

Welcome to the club. In the Pacific N/W area? Thought I recognized that green moss look on the paint.
Looks like its been sitting outside most of its life.

Hi, welcome. I take it you purchased the 0 mile engine as well and are going to plug it into the ty?

Should be real nice..

Hello, well I’ll try and answer your questions. =)

The green moss, I guess it’s the standard Pacific NW variety with some algae and lichens thrown in to complete the out door look, blending in with everything else here.

Yes, I do have a nice set of jack stands, but the guys at GN Northwest have a really nice lift, where my Typhoon currently resides, but my stands will get a lot of use going forward on this project.

This was my neighbor’s truck; he had purchased it a few years ago for 17k from a local dealer. I had chatted with him a few times in the past about the truck when he was driving it. The truck had been parked in one spot for over a year and starting to turn green, slowly being reclaimed by Mother Nature, I put a note on it asking if it were for sale and here I am.

Had a few different plans on what to do with the truck, put a late model GM V8, rebuilding a much higher output 4.3, but with the truck being completely stock and I figured I would be driving it less than 3k miles a year, I decided to go with the OEM, NOS engine trans at GN Northwest. Not wanting to tackle the cleaning up and detailing as the previous owner must have been a mad scientist leaving all his lab experiments growing in the truck, I took it to a local detail shop, they had to keep it for a couple extra days to remove those lab experiments. From there it went to GN Northwest for the install, where it currently resides.

Once I get the truck back, there are a lot of detail items that I’ll be chipping away at, most likely asking for advice from the forum, relying on the knowledge and experience of all the members as I go.

Welcome to the site, Do you have any pictures of it after the work was done at the detail shop?

Lloyd, I'd tell you to look at his profile, he's got some posted in his "garage" but I can't seem to get to his profile. Weird. I saw his pics last week or so, and it cleaned up nice!

Congrats. All the best with your pursuit to restore it and don't get sidetracked by the few haters on here who find fault with every motive and vehicle in existence besides their own. When it is returned to you, I am confident it would make 98% of the members on here happy to own it, especially in light of the quality work GN Northwest is reknown for. Post some pics for us to see when you get it back.

I went to his profile but for some strange reason it comes up like this.:dunno:

SY2455, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

It seems to be blocked.:dunno:

Got 2000mi on the motor/trans, all seems to be working well. As far as the matching number motor/trans I intend to keep it with the truck. The last owner spilled a gallon or so of latex, at least it was white. So looking for a good source for carpet and mats. Hopefully like the stock one with the red Typhoon stitching and less the matching white paint. =)
