Awesome! Be sure to post pics. What 2 step are you planning on using? What activation method? That's on my list as well.

Msd 6al2. I have not decided what activation method yet, leaning tword a temporary switch on my shift knob just for the track. I would remove it for street driving. I do not want to ruin my shift knob so i'll take some suggestions from others who have done it.

Hey Matt,
Sweet looking parts. The caltracs will help a TON in keeping the rear planted with the power your looking at putting down. Check out our billet knob we have now with the button built in for your launch activation. I have mine run through a switch so it's only active when I want it to be. So that way when your street driving, you don't have to worry about hitting it. But on the other hand, just in case you need to woop a little street ass, it's only a flip away:tup:. Worked wonders for my reaction time & consistency. Plus, I think it just looks badass:lol:. http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=94629

Re: Newly rebuilt Ty 92 #0021

Ok guys got a bunch of pics coming here...first some pics of how she looked underneath before the new suspension, rearend, brakes and paint...looked like poo, but remember this truck is no trailer queen I built it to enjoy and drive, so it does get street driven quite a bit...

Hope you guys enjoy!

Here it is before.....

Re: Newly rebuilt Ty 92 #0021

I run a MSD 6AL2 with it set to my brake light switch and a inline switch to disable it when im not racing. Works great when I have it set to the max rpm my brakes will hold, Then I just sit at the tree with my left foot to the brake pressed to the floor and right foot on the gas also pinned to the floor. Just release the brake and launch.

How do you like those QA1 rear shocks Matt?

Deception- did you notice a delay in the brake light switch when you let off the brake? These trucks are notorious to stay on a bit after you let off...

Re: Newly rebuilt Ty 92 #0021

Had the rear brake calipers and backing plates powdercoated and painted everything I could get at without making a huge fuss. Again this is no show car, but I do want it to look presentable. The overspray was cleaned up before final assembly.....Also had steelbraided brake lines made up.

As Sean said, I was always told if I hook it up to the brake light switch there will be a delay. You've had no trouble? Guess it wouldn't effect your 60' just your reaction time....

The Qa1s did not work once the truck was lowered to where it is now. Tom at Sportmachines hooked me up with some badass Afco"s. Pics coming.

Re: Newly rebuilt Ty 92 #0021

I didnt notice a delay I put in a new brake switch also when I did it. When I raced they ran a pro tree so as soon as I seen yellow I let go. I could have a slight delay but as long as I stay consitant on my time I win and with this set up I can be. Launching at the same rpm everytime all that changes is my reaction and adjust for temp change.

Re: Newly rebuilt Ty 92 #0021

As I think about it their could be a small delay from the time the pedle comes all the way up and closes the switch but if you pratice and get use to it and can plan for it by adjusting when you should release then it shouldnt bother you.

My friend told me about this set up he runs on his 55 bel-air 2dr wagon and he is in sainly consistan and has a crazy low reaction time. He wins the race most of the time and I have only beat him once because he spun bad at the light;
