need lower radiator hose ASAP!! help!

My ty is my daily driver and this morning i blew out the original lower radiator hose! I tried Advance Auto, AutoZone and Napa with no luck! I did a search and found the GM part # but its turning up invalid on GM's order site!! I will be able to take my motorcylce to work tomorrow but it's supposed to rain for the rest of week. I tried to repair the hose with no luck either. What are my options? universal stainless hose and make one? Thanks!

hmmm... I know the upper is nothing special from any other 4.3 s-series but the lower seems to be specific and unavailable

Take your old one into AutoZone and find a friendly parts guy, explain the situation (rare OOP truck) and ask if you can go behind the counter and match something up. They have an unbelievable selection of radiator hoses back there!!

The problem with that is that the radiator side and the water pump side are 2 different diameters. Won't be hard to find a close shape but finding correct diameters will be a problem.

When I rebuilt my motor I just got one for a regular 4.3 and it works fine, dont spend a ton of money buying a "syty" specific one.

Well then I got lucky, but I am telling you I got a lower radiator hose for a 1993 Jimmy, 4.3L and it fits on mine no problem. One side id bigger than the other also so I am covered in that department. Got it from auto zone, try it if it is not the right one return it thats all.

Yeah I was thinking about just eyeing one up next to mine and see if its close. Only reason I would think its different is because sy/tys have the crossover pipe going in front of the motor. I will check one out..

i got the 4.3 one and spliced it to my original hose and it works fine. i used a piece of exhaust tubing off the shelf that fit the hose.

I tried splicing mine with a piece of pvc pipe.. Didn't work so well no matter how much I tightened the clamps. I checked Napa's website and it only shows the upper. The part # I have for a Napa lower didn't yield any results either. Nick (NJ93TY) is working on getting me one but I will just find a local napa and try there if all else fails. Thanks guys

I am running the Std S10 Goodyear hi miler setup and it fits fine.
The lower hits the wastegate actuator on the turbo just barely but it all fits fine.

the pvc has thicker walls might be causinging a pressure restriction or the pvc is too smooth for the hose to hold

When I replace mine I just used a N/A 4.3 lower hose. Or you can have them cross ref a AC Delco 22287M for a new number.

Old thread I know... Played musical radiator hoses last couple of days trying to find the "correct" lower hose for the Sy.

One local shop said all BUT Syclone (Every brand said the same thing on his computer) walked out with a Goodyear 61502 tried it anyway, close, but not correct.

Next was the GMC stealership, claimed 15149147 was correct, paid 38.83. If it was truly correct I'd swallow my pride and keep it. Closer than Goodyear but see next.

Went to NAPA picked up a 8723, fit perfect. Took back the official GMC gold plated one and kept the NAPA 25.00 hose.

So IMHO the NAPA hose is still the one.
