well ill be picking it up in about 2 hours from now i checked it over as well as a guy i know who had a ty about 3 years ago and he in deed said change the plugs wires and rewrap the down pipe and starter iam doing the tune up when i bring it home what plugs n wires u guys think i looked at the ngk but let me know

Ur5 or Ur6 are the standard.

ok got the plugs before ur replies got autolite platinums maybe use em to move truck around seems fine drove it hour hour does need starter, put all new filters on trans fuel oil, change oil trans and diff fluids, do a pressure check on it, only thing i can see wrong is at red light you hit the gas and takes of slow also if stopped i tries to stall, was told that a tune up will help alot. the old plugs wires were arking on the down pipe temp fixed that to get home with a zip tie

when on the 16 hour drive to see that truck and came home empty handed for a reason. He wanted my S-10 for it and i laughed in his face. he was asking 4500 when i looked at it and when i got home he said 3500. had i know he would go down so low i would have bought it.

Might want to pull those platinums out sooner than later, I made the mistake of putting them in my Ty and it ran horrible. Plain ol copper plugs or Iridiums are the only way to go with these. Generally Taylor wires are the preferred route, along with a good cap & rotor (brass terminals are a must). For the starter, get one from a 1996 Chevy K2500 with the 454 (7.4L). It bolts right in, is lighter, stronger, and smaller than the stock unit. Filters, fluids and pressure checks are excellent ideas. Sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders starting off right with a tune up, many new owners want to do everything except that. Good luck with it and keep us posted! :tup:

who makes those plugs to be honest all i do is paint and custom body work and all have my own shop yea i can swap a motor trans and all that but just who makes those plugs.

and thanks bout what i have in mind those extra wires in the truck go to nothin go behind the motor and to the front. it had a boost controller but he took it out iam not sure why ill call him tomm, ill let you guys know everything as i work on it doin plugs today bein got home late from a halloween party.

just want to say thanks for everyones help and maybe ill make it to a meet with it one day

one last thing before i go to bed can you guys vote on this for me spend well over 60 hours and money on it for the minitruckin mag scale model build my name on there is foxracin23 iam the 6th model under the poll iam in 3rd so far
