I only knew one person who had two emoticons.

Audrey, my daugther who is 9 (has been riding in a Typhon since she was 8 mos old), and is the little girl in my avatar wanted me to post these...

I think we need to move both his Emoticons to the top.

Re: Myclone is gone

All I can say is wow, I can't even rap my mind around this idea. I've just read 11 pages of posts and I still don't believe it. It's so hard to imagine that I'll never be able to actually meet Dave or recieve another PM from him.

Lisa, I'm truely sorry for your loss, Dave was a great man, one in a million.

Like many others I never meet Dave, but did enjoy reading each and everyone of his posts. I used to bounce ideas off him all the time and ask him questions, he always responded and always went above and beyound to help me out with ideas or information.

I remember one time Dave mistakingly thought that I posted about coming up with some new way to run a fuel pump setup or design a fuel pump, I still to this day don't know what he was talking about? I got PM's from him for 2 days trying to get me to talk about this new fuel pump idea until I was finally able to convince him of that I don't know anything about fuel pump designs. :rotf:

It was very funny after he figured out who he really ment to talk to, we both had a good laugh :rotf:

RIP Dave ( Myclone) :myclone:
Hopefully your out racing your Sy somewhere or driving that badass lowered dually

This morning I had a job interview and I had 15 minutes until I needed to leave, so I checked SyTy.net to waste some time. When I saw the title "Myclone is gone", I expect to see his truck was either sold, totalled, or stolen, not that David had left us. What somber effect that had on my day, and I can't even imagine how his family feels.

Days like today put life into perspective. Myclone contributions epitomizes everything that I enjoy in the community. I will be forever be searching through his old posts for his technical advice. I feel fortunate for his emails, pm's, and forum advice from him. I feel saddened that his time was so short and he will be missed by me.

I am not really a religious person, but I would like believe their is a heaven. If their are vehicles in heaven I am sure Dave is already wrenching on God's Syclone :myclone:
Same here Dave.Every morning when I wake up,I throw on a pot of coffee, light a cigarette and log onto syty.net.

I saw the thread title and I'm like no way he sold his shit. Then BAM I read Lisa's post and just felt totally sick to my stomach.

What can you say about such a tragedy? How are you supposed to feel when someone that is so cool, funny, smart, and helpful just ceases to exist anymore? To me it just felt like hopelessness.Nothing I could do,nothing I could say, could ease the pain in my heart.

Now multiply that times infinity and imagine how his girl feels.

****.

I considered Myclone to be a philosopher,a great storyteller,a true gentleman, and someone who would speak his mind if he was right.

And a helluva a mechanic/fabricator.

So I just felt like crap all day.

We'll miss ya man.... :myclone:

Re: Myclone is gone

News of Dave's passing is still UNBELIEVABLE even after I first got word of it twelve hours ago... My friendship with Dave goes back before our first NATS in Great Bend, KS '01. We had exchanged several emails and hit it off pretty well. We had never met each other prior to the NATS. I trailered my truck to the NATS and Dave drove his from VA. Unfortunately, he grenaded his rear end while at the NATS and had no way of getting his truck back home. He was about to rent a Uhaul truck and trailer when I told him that I would get him home. He had a confused look on his face and he asked what I was going to do about my truck. He was blown away when I told him that after we loaded his truck on my trailer, he would have to drive mine back to VA... And so a friendship was forged over twenty hours driving one thousand two hundred miles.

Dave REALLY appreciated this because that was the kind of guy that he was. Always willing to help out even if it meant REALLY going out of his way to do so. To give and not expect anything in return other than a "thank you" is very rare quality these days. And Dave did it on a regular basis. He helped me with my transmission woes and my truck probably wouldn't be on the road today if he hadn't helped out. To top it off, he practically gave me a 4L80E for free last year. I always gave him the standard "myclone discount" on anything I possessed or fabricated that he was interested in. He would always laugh when I told him that his money wasn't any good up here.

I am VERY grateful that I took the time to give him a call Sunday night at work. Without doubt Dave is looking down smiling knowing that this community has come together in his honor and for his family. My only regret is that we weren't able to get together more often than we did :(. Lisa if you need ANYTHING, please give me a call. E-RUE could you please post when the services will be held? I need to know so that I can schedule a road trip...

Re: Myclone is gone

I just don't know what to say.

My morning ritual of waking up while browsing the forums here made me really really hope that I was still asleep and just having a nightmare.

I had to sit back and really ponder things after getting the news. Jane asked me what was wrong, she could see the look on my face. My answer was that the world just lost one hell of a human bieng.

I too met Dave at the chitown nats. After reading his posts and stories before actually meeting him I just had to search him out asap when I got there to see the man behind the screen name.

I've found myself thinking about him the whole day as I'm sure we all have. Just goes to show how quick lives can change and end.

It really seemed to me that Dave lived his life to the fullest. The stories that he could tell make it seem like he packed an awfull lot into the short time that he was with us on this earth.

Rest in peace Dave,

Tony

Re: Myclone is gone

Thank you all for the kind words for Dave. I am doing what he would do when he couldn't sleep. Post on here. Only thing is he isn't in bed waiting on me. What I am supposed to do without him. I made them let me lay down beside him before they took him away from me . I just wanted to hold him. I can't do this , I am not supposed to be doing this. I loved this man more than I loved life itself. Somebody please , please come tell me he isn't really gone. I am gonna bring his ashes home with me. I think it only fitting that his turbo girl give him a kick ass ride in the Syclone.

We will be recieving friends today at Oakey's in Vinton VA from 6-8pm.

Lisa
MsMyclone always and forever

I love you Dave!

Re: Myclone is gone

Lisa,Im very sorry to hear this. I just found this post from a link and I had to come signe up to let you know that although you dont know me,If you need anything let me know and my wife and I will be there for you. I only got to meet him once but I know he was a great guy and he worked with my friend Lee Slough and lee always talked about him and how he was a nice guy. When I had my Grand Nationals he used to tell me to "stop by" and I never did and now I regret it because I only live about 3 miles down the street from you and I missed the chance to hang out with a great guy.
God bless.

Lisa, I'm so sorry. I too never met him in person, but frequently found myself telling others about his posts and sense of humor. I hope that the SyTy community can help make this time just that much easier for you.

RIP Dave

I told her about chitown nats, how bdubb and I were playing beer pong on ironing boards and david and his wife grabbed lawn chairs sat down and laughed at/along with us, it was hilarious and i'm glad i provided some drunken entertainment at the time..
