Re: my small project

Dang, looks good! I love the way the air filter/intake sounds with the short tube. I just did that to mine but I have the stock turbo, but it still sounds good! I can hear the turbo spool up really good when I'm driving between buildings(echos). Like a diesal, only not that loud...lol...Next up, A2A, 60-1 turbo and 3000 stall converter!!! Might be a while though. HAH

Re: my small project

After messing with the banjo bolt and I torqued the crap out of it. It stopped leaking for now. And it runs. Took it around the block. I blew white smoke for a while but stopped. And wow the new turbo is loud. I never hit boost but I could hear the turbo spooling. I will go for a longer run tomorow .

Re: my small project

Bolted right up. Easy to clock for A2A. only problem I had was one of the manifold posts was a bit to long and hit the turbo housing. I just cut off 1/8 off it and I was ready to go. Turbo is loud. Almost too loud. It makes me wounder if I have a problem but its getting oil.
I smell oil when I drove it this morning but I see no leaks. I guess its some burning off. I hope :)

Loud....That's what I like...lol.... I can hear my stocker spool up quite well with that short intake. I need to get an updated picture of my engine bay. Looks a little different from when I first bought it. No more ABS, battery is moved, intake in place of battery. Typical SYTY bay...lol

Re: my small project

Turbo sounds like a my neighbors stock f350 turbo. Its that loud. Wastage flutter is louder too. Makes me want to go with a BOV. Thinking of getting an electric exhaust cutout too??? I got a weird brake squeak. Not typical high pitch sound, its deep low tone. I still have yet to boost past 5lbs. Taking it easy for now.

Hmm, I want one now...lol...I have a BOV and it blows off LOUD at 15psi when I let off. It probably would help out a lot with that bigger turbo. Check those electrical wires that go to your brakes. Mine was making a loud noise and pulling kind of and those wires were rubbing on the shield and almost burnt all the way through. DO THE EXHAUST CUT OUT!!!! Just for sound!!! lol

Re: my small project

I tried to build some boost and blew the TB coupling off? I kinda knew it was going to happen. I had it tightened alll the way down . I had a hard time getting it on all the way over the 2 tabs on the TB. I guess its suposed to go over those tabs.???? Besides that and the squeaking brakes everything looks good.

Re: my small project

Yeah... I know is gheto.. But it held 10lbs. I am woried about the stress on the TB bolt. Do you think it would be ok?? I have another thicker coupling comming out , but would this work for now? its all parts I had in my work van.

Re: my small project

It should be fine......for now.......but it does look ghetto!!! LOL Weld a little mounting tab up from the A2A piping and weld on two mounting brackets for each TB bolt. Then remove, paint, reinstall and you should be good to go
