Multichip display preview *movie added, second page*

Been working a little here and there, but this is what I've come up with so far. Working on all the programming, but it's coming along.

But what do you think so far?? I'm trying to think of whether to say degrees or "Timing: Street" "Timing: Strip" "Timing: Race"
Or maybe octane? And I'm going to change Boost to psi rather than bar. Was just playing around.

Feedback??

Looks cool to me. Is there any chance of a glowing face? And will the chip part and wires be enclosed so it can be mounted somewhere like on the dash or in the middle arm rest?

That display is actually an EL display, I just don't have the inverter hooked up yet. I'm more working on the content first.

I'm shooting to make it enclosed, and it should be very compact (only 4 parts as of yet). I'd imagine it to be small enough to fit in many places. But I'm also working on remotely mounting EPROMS, which is a chore so far. But I think it might be possible. I'm also looking into the possibility of an alarm interface to where it has a memory setting that cuts off fuel when armed.

But this is all really early on. I figured I'd just get feedback from everyone.

But yes, glowing face is pretty much a go, and remotely mounted and compact is a go. :D

sweet. I've seen something similar before, but plans never seemed to come to and end. Keep at it, I'd love to see something like this sitting on my dash or overhead console. If you need any input, just ask

Well, I'm following through with this for sure, because I'm wanting it at least for my truck. :D

I'll try to reporgram it with psi and "street"

See what ya'll think.

So is this a complete chip and display or a display for any chip that moniters these fields? I have to say, that's awesome! I'll take a display! :D If you ever offer it.

Well, it's going to be a full setup. Not monitoring anything. Your gauges are for that. This would just be a remoted mounted EPROM multichip setup with backlit LCD display. Once I get this stuff down, I might work on graphics LCD.

If I can get it working well and offer it, the graphics LCD can be custom made with the Syclone or Typhoon logo, and let say........your truck number?

Just ideas. I'm months out still. But I'll keep things posted.

Well, I don't have an Ultimate to go off of. But I'm sure it would be quite easy to interface with if I had one to reference from.

Although, if I were to sell them, it would be relatively inexpensive. I'd not be in it to make a killing, but rather to set up the most people possible. So I'm quite sure an Ultimate interface could be possible. There's not a lot of magic to the addressing of a chip. I admit that I've tried to get some answers about the Ultimate before. The original plan was just to make the controller module. But both mine and my brother's emails have been ignored and so I ended up with a complete setup. And as I keep going, I find more and more to do. :D

But yes, an Ultimate interface would be certainly possible for you all that have the Ultimate now. Ask, and you shall receive (although it may just take some time).

I'm still trying to work out the bugs in the programming though. I'm trying to keep real estate down to a minimum. So once I get the working LCD module, I'll maybe hook up with an Ultimate owner about working on an interface.

Holy shit I just had a great idea. That screen looks like it could be thin enough to put in the sun visor. anyone tried that?

HEY, good idea! That just might be a possibility. ::thumbsup::

How does this one look instead??

Looks like a real nice setup.

Are you going to leave the selection between programs at the 16 position rotary DIP switch? I'm talking about the one on the P-3 kit.

Now if I can get the scanmaster thing going, and make some sort of setup so these could be mounted together somehow. 8)

later,

Scott

Actually, I'm working on this being a remote pushbutton setup too. But don't hold off on that adapter. It's a really good product and Craig's a great guy. I MAY even be able to make it retro to one of his adapters.....you never know. :D

very nice... would like to see this project completed.

it would be great to be able to interface directly of ANY chip.. stock, ultimate or hybrids...basically a plug and play.

if you make it a push button, whats the chance of doing a memory recall, say for highest psi of boost read?

any way of doing a scroll for diffrent values such as boost, knock, MATs, RPM, mph?

great job so far... definately something i would be interested in purchasing from you when completed.

Ok, while that's really cool...........mine's not a monitoring display. It's simply a multichip display. I ended up making a multichip for my Ty with various timing, boost, etc. What selects that right now is just a rotary dial. The Ultimate has a nifty display, but I wanted to make an LCD display. All this would do is show you what setting your chip is on. It's not monitoring anything.

Sorry for the confusion. That's certainly a cool thing having an ALDL monitor. But that's not what this is.

Hope that make sense.
