Kevlar bumper reinforcements ????

:) .....Ok, as many of you might have guessed or already known....I've been collecting SY/Ty bits for CF and Kevlar Resin Infusion for our small mass of collectors and nicer trucks that are aiming for lighter, stronger performance parts.
I have one perfect rear bumper brace to mold for Kevlar....but I need a perfect front. (returnable in same shape received, except slicker).
These would be bolt-in Full Kevlar with mounting hardware in place.
The part donor gets cost on a set (frt-rear). Must be like new or perfectly true/straight)!!
I can work this project in through the Fall and Winter for fruition. I may work out a group buy later on, but won't announce until I have parts pulling from the molds and have trial fitments out of the way. The hardware(stainless) will be a buzz kill to dial in.
Looking forward to everyone BUT tire kickers as these won't be free. But I'll be gentle.... ;)

i have what you need. lemme find a pic

Wow Mike ...your a quick one ! ;) That was a lightening response. I hope your going to cough up a Primo condition one ? No corrosion I'll have to deal with or bends ?
Ideally......a straight one that needs to be blasted and powdercoated would work....I can do this, but I'd REALLY like to remove any factory low/high spots to smooth the part out......but afterall, this is going BEHIND the bumper cover,so no real need.
I should add......weight wise, these should come in at or near the aluminum counterpart, but MUCH more ridgid and stout from minor hits ! No more cracked metal.
The best part...once the molds are finished....any of us can order a replacement that fits and is better in most ways,IMHO,that is.

Whose doing the current bodywork there ? :)

my #1 bodywork guy...who else?!
The part is completely prepped and primed now...and about to be molded anyway. Dunno what the exact current status is on it, but once its molded i could send it to you (or bring it to NATS - you coming?)

:rotf: ROTFL........what a expression he has too ! Love it. Yeah I'm coming to Nats. Maybe ride up with PPRESS,he's a new Sy owner from here...super guy.
I guess my only pressing Q' here is...."how true/straight " is this ???
Its gotta be great if I'm going to build multiple flanged molds for Infusion with it. Way too much time and money to waste on a bad parent part.Feel me here ? :(

BTW....I have a aluminum one, are these TY only ?

its from a ty. I'll see if i can bring it to nats and you can check it out there. if you find a mint one (maybe marty has an NOS one) use it instead. This is the nicest of 3 that i own though.

I was doing the body-work on it as I wanted it to be as straight as possible if I am gonna take the time to make a mold of it. Like Renz said its the true-ist that we have come across but its not perfect. I striaghtened the metal out as best as possible and I was using filler to get it as close as I can to perfect. I think it currently has a couple of coats of high build filler primer on it. Some wet sanding, lots of coats of wax, a couple of flanges, and some PVA and it will be good to mold.

That would be a beaut !! My main concern is that the molded one comes from true original squareness for perfect fitting bumpers covers later.
I am of the camp/ mind set that the foundation of a build is how nice the final job work out....thus the unmolested part to begin with.
Hopefully Warmpancakes can come through for us on this NOS support.
If not......are there any other people out there with an unmolested front support willing to work with me if his falls through ?
It CAN be used......but I'll want to smooth out the spotwelds, ripples on it for a nicer final part,if thats ok with the donor ?

BTW- thanks Mattw and Renz for getting in there with this. Who knows....Your part may be the only actual one I get the chance to work with, so I'm definatly willing to keep it in mind.

......But this extra front one I have is also aluminum ?? :dunno:

I'll hang on to it til after the Kevlar ones can be weight compared, just for fun. As well as my steel one too. This aluminum is pretty light but light duty as well. The Kevlar Infused versions will hold up alot better as well as take a good hit without being distorted easily or wasted.
Not to mention, simply a good strong replacement for those who have insurance, lol.
Cheers,Vinny
