Just out of curiousity though, you have 3 vehicles that are fairly nice...well quite nice and you live in an apartment complex it looks like? No garage loving for them?

I am not from St Louis , and dont plan on being here if my job goes away. The last thing I need is a house causing trouble relocating. I need a garage , I think of that all the time.... but its not a priority. Our contract ends in a year and a half ... and may not get renewed.

I have a custom aluminum core support I bought from the Ckeith group purchase that will finally be put to use. Where do I find a new front bumper ( the actual bumper , and not the cover ... its in a v-shape right now, lol ) ---

$38 a hour? wayyyyyyyyyy to low. Shop here start at $65 and go up fast as hell. A dealership starts at $75 and for a Lexus or Acura dealership they start at $125

only $3k...what??? Seems way too low. You can't get anything done around here for that.

$38/hr...damn, that's too cheap...raise those rates my friend. We pay double that!

for body? or mechanical? how expensive is car insurance there?

In Denver, we are at $95/hr

Here it is $38/hr body $28/hr refinish and $70/hr mechanical. That is standard for Dallas/Ft Worth. Thats all insurance companies pay here also. Most of the country is from $38-$42 for body labor. PA is $42 I think.

Dont pay a mechanic to do bodywork. Pay a bodyman to do bodywork.

Actually, now that I think about the grille, they arent the same as OEM. the aftermarket ones cant say GMC. See pic.

Another reason I am happy I have liability ... I would be SO pissed if my truck got a salvage title. I would rather rebuild it from scratch than have that happen ---

Someone local is offering me this hood ... I am not sure if I like the way it dimples INWORD instead of to a point on the cowl (2"). He wants $200 (its primered and steel). The goodmarks go for $370 shipped on Ebay.

What brand is it? Whats your opinion? Thanks ---

Yeah, I was being an idiot and ran into the back of an SUV . It was rush hour ... and I was just on my way for a sub sandwich.

similar damage to mine, depending on how bad it is, do the work on the dog house your self, im no mechanic and was able to get mine to this condition before sending it out for work. saved lots and lots of money too. the core support i got off of another SYTY so all the emissions stickers are still there. :tup:

bumper cover looks salvagable, but you would know better than me.

did your AC system or W2A system get tore up?

the guy i got most of my parts from probably has everything you need minus the cowl hood.

Holla at me if you need anything. Its really not that bad of a fix, but my ins company gave me over 7k to fix mine.

I decided on buying the reflexxions hood .. but the guy wants to meet me by the end of the week.

IRONICALLY , I need my SY to pick it up, lol. If I pull HARD on my hood latch grip ( from the inside) do I have to worry about breaking it?! I dont have ANYONE to help me.

Second thing, since my radiator is leaking ( I am buying a new one off a member here ) ... could I JB weld it for the 100 mile trip?!

Ahhh, this is So much fun , it has rained for 28hrs straight now ---

I know, that seems easiest , but I am a turd with NO FRIENDS that have trucks ( seriously ) .

I almost thought of renting a U-Haul ... I will ask the guy if he will go all the way , and not just 1/2 way (for extra money )

The sad thing is I have no friends, no family , and I learn from life step by step ( its been this way since I was 17 ) .... you guys mean more to me than it probably seems ---

It cost me a bit but I got my 1st Hood through fedex....from about 60mi away.... or does he not want to go through the hassle?

I will bring that up too ... but he says hes 1hr away , if he will charge me for 30 min extra ... gas should onliy be $10 ( to and from) ... thanks for the advice though ---

When do you need to pick it up?
And WHERE?

We could roll out in the SS, I just have to schedule it in.
Wed and Thurs eve are open and I'm looking at taking a half day on Friday and so far my Saturday is open until around 4ish.

Just let me know man and we can work something out.

I appreciate the offer SO MUCH Jason ... but I wouldnt feel right asking a favor of a "stranger".

I think I will just offer him extra $$$ to come all the way , or hold onto it until I get my new radiator/rent a Uhaul silverado for $20. That was VERY cool of you!!!

Here is a pic of my bumper support ( can it be fixed? If not ... where can I get a new one? )

Here is a pic of my drivers side cladding cracked ... I am almost positive it can be fixed but want your opinion before I hand it off to the painter.

What are these tabs in the fender ... are they broken off the cladding .... or are they there to mount it? I also circled the crack in the door ( can that be fixed with putty and paint? )

Last but not least the tear in my bumper cover

Remember , its all getting painted, so using putty is ok. Thanks guys ---
