Re: Jamie Hacking just ran 7.59 @ 185 MPH

The little car may have had a better reaction time but not better 60ft. The car leaves first before the syclone starts moving. then the syclone blows by him and prob made his car shake like when a simi truck goes by you on the highway

With the smoke coming out under the little car and seemingly shut down the engine the passing of jamies syclone looks faster than it realy is, MY thoughts..

But if its true that Jamie blew the engine?? im realy sorry for his loss, its soo cool see those V6 engine kick ass..

One Q, I read the rules that the vankel and 4-6 cyl engines with turbo´s could use nitro oxide adders too?

Nitrous can only be used in inline-6 engines....dont know about the others.

At the levels Jamie is racing in, if you screw up the launch, most people will abort the pass...the race is usually lost anyways (save the wear and tear on the engine for a pass that you cant win anyways) when it's only an 1/8 mile race. That class/race is won within the first 330'...usually less.

are you running low(er) boost in first gear or to launch or something? Seems like you after about 100ft the truck takes the hell off harder than it launches.

Theres more than one way to get it done, but most guys with these large frame turbos probably prefer that once they spool that they stay that way. Rather than limit the boost they use a MSD 7531 box or similar to make a programmable timing curve. Or a combination of both is used, just depends on your preference, like I said before theres more than one way to get it done.

Scoreboard is too blurry to make out what the et / mph but she sure moves out when you pour the coals to her. Looks like you had to get on the brakes early after the smoke.

Can anyone confirm or deny the motor made it thru in one piece? ** Sorry reread posts, must not have made it. :( **
At a buck 85 there are no minor issues. THAT is moving, way to hang onto it. Even though mine will never see that much speed, makes me damn proud to own one of those mean little trucks. Keep it up Jamie!

Smoke att the end, blown engine??

Jamie ran the 7.59 pass during Saturday qualifing in which he qualified first in a field of approx 50. Sunday he dialed it back a little and easily won the first round as he ran against the 32ed place qualifer. He still had it turned back some on the second round and was ahead of other car when he shut down. He doesn't know if its hurt or how bad.

It's amazing how it can go so fast in a straight line without a wing

Impressive run no doubt. I suspect and this is not a dig on Jamie as a driver, or his vehicle at all but with teh times he is running on the tires he is running, at some point there will be a crash. Happens VERY often in x275 tire cars. It has nothing to do with driver, or truck. All it takes it a touch of oil on the track at the wrong time, water, etc. Things happen so fast there is no way to react to them.

Just a prediction and I hope I am wrong.

It's just amazing how fast it gets out of the hole on a 275 tire... the lights go, and *bam*, it's not there anymore.

Awesome run, and obviously a really great chassis setup.

Those are some very impressive runs. Lots of hard work has paid off for you in a big way. Chassis man is my hero though, getting the power it takes to run that fast to the ground on a drag radial is impressive. Jamie, congrats on having the Worlds Quickest Syclone. Lee
