When you guys are doing these, how much are trimming off the bump stop?

I didn't take anything off my bump stops with a 27" ride height and tubular A-arms (I not sure how the stock A-arms and the bumps stops clearances are, they maybe be different.) I notice at 26.5" ride my bump stops were really close. You can always test the bump stop and cleck cladding clearance without the coil/shock set up.

not at all, right now mine at dead center.. they are a little stiff but they keep the truck flat around all corners..

Figured I'd post these here too in case someone wanted some pics of what needs to be modified on the coilover spring seats:

Re: How to install stock arm coil overs

good luck with that collar, the spring is going to hit the frame..

also need to ditch the poly bushings and go with solid metal ones.

I'll make it work. If i need to machine it more, I'll machine it more.

I already have the metal bushings.

EDIT: They do fit, minus the trimming I have to do as described in MRKING's first post.

I just have a socket extension holding it in there, but I just wanted to show that it does fit.

And here they are mocked up. I still need to get the spacers in there and the metal bushings, but that'll come tomorrow. I'm also replacing the bolts/nuts with new parts. The originals are pretty cruddy.

But for those that said they won't fit.....

AND.......they are right side up!

My ass. Look at it.
Ive heard of this being mentioned before, but havent seen many people "beefing up" the shock mount since it is taking much more abuse with a coil over setup. Any thoughts on this?

Dan, Im definitely going to have to check this beast out next time I am in the valley. Its a totally different animal since the last time I saw it! :)

Re: How to install stock arm coil overs

The metal bushing is actually the heim joint style ends, not the metal sleeve that slides into the rubber.

We never had any luck with the rubber mounting, just too much stress.

Small pic but you get idea
