Coloring the ring would help, What I was referring to though was actually making a fake reflector to attach there and hide the housing behind. Something lke:
Where the yellow lines are the existing internal reflector of the housing and the grey lines represent a shield (aluminum or something like that) which makes the interior of the lamp uniform and hides the HID housing (if also making it shallower, but that is trivial)
Another note, I would be more than willing to offer my truck as a guinea pig for testing the lights as compared to my current SilverStars

As far as the beam pattern mounted, look at the first picture, then remove roughly the back half of the ground light, and that would be what you get... I know its unscientific, but I just dont have a truck to mount it to.
I would be willing to do this though, if someone didnt like the beam pattern once installed, money back guarentee, minus shipping.
