Re: Getting ready to lsx swap my typhoon

the downpipes will be pretty interesting, they will be 100% aluminum, and the plan is to step them up to 3.5" immediately out of the turbine and go as far as i can before stepping them back down to 3" to squeeze past the motor and trans.
so far my budget has been pretty well in control. i have a spreadsheet at home to track everything and if i remember right, im about 3500 into it including the truck and deducting for sold parts.

Steering shaft and prop shaft

10-4 on that. Also aluminum? I'd be afraid of that personally. Suggestion ONLY, you might want to consider some heat shields along the way also. Unless you move them to the outside of the frame the fuel lines are close also. Don't ya love all the help we're providing???

yeah i learned the heat shielding thing the hard way on my s10. melted the clutch line in traffic and had to drive home with no pedal.
ive never had to deal with a prop shaft before, so it will be interesting. im gonna have to figure out how to lengthen it along with not crashing into it with exhaust, so i will have quite an intimate relationship with it in the near future.
the steering shaft doesnt scare me at all, you should see the one on my s10
i appreciate any advice, nobody is born knowing everything

Re: Getting ready to lsx swap my typhoon

I decided to build my own harness this time instead of a cpw one.
It has been a lot of work.

took a break from wiring to swap the transfer case input shaft, and start on the downpipes.

stock steering shaft clears

Oh crap it's Dave! I didn't realize this was yours! Nice!

The s10 is sick, too.

Any updates on this one? I know it's an olds thread and all but I'm really interested in seeing how the turbo pipe routing worked out for you and any other issues you ran into. I've been trying to figure which would be easier to do, the turbos with the routing like they did on the Speed inc typhoon, or the routing like you did yours. How'd it turn out?
