Re: GAST Meet - September 24th-25th

I had to cut out early to get back to TN. Hated to miss the racing. It was still a great time hanging out and meeting some old/new people. I hope you all do it again in the future. Well worth the 5.5hour drive.

I hear there may be video of hood's run somewhere....

Re: GAST Meet - September 24th-25th

yea i will have to get my time slips out of the truck.
i just took it off the trailer and put it in the grauge for now till i can change the oil to see if there is any material in the oil .

but i cranked it up when i was taking it off the tralier and it was at the 3/4 mark on the guage and then drop down to a little below half (after beating on it up and down the road alittle) so i think i am going to beat the shit out of it somemore till it fully comes apart. i turned the boost back to 16psi and i am going to spray more meth into it so that it will live a little longer life so that i can at least in joy it for a little while(considering it was only back together for 2 day).

but glad yall had a good trip back and what kinda gas milage were yall getting?

I was getting about 17mpg

I think Adam was probably around 14-15 seeing he was always a 1/4 under what I was.

Re: GAST Meet - September 24th-25th

No. They closed the track down at 4. I didnt think I could get any better so I just said screw it.

I'll run it again either mid part of next month or a little later when it cools down and see what it does. I might have to get into some of the tuning software that I got with the truck, just to see what I can do. Its just going to take alot of my time learning.

Oh, you should make a thead in the general fourm about your SES light, or I should say the low coolant light. :D See how many other people have it or if its just your truck.

Re: GAST Meet - September 24th-25th

i am going to let adam do that becasue he can explain it a little better than i would be able to do. plus i haven't taken any pics yet of it. i think i am going to pull that cluster out and put my other one in so that if it is the only one it will not get messed up or faded or anything.

Re: GAST Meet - September 24th-25th

I got some weird mpg... one tank its badass, the next it sucks.

Crap, I could listen to Jonathan talk all day long. That cat is damn funny and isnt even meaning to be just cause his accent. BTW, you still have my extinguisher Jon...

My shin still hurts from my run in with the curb on the mini bike. I need to get myself one of those things... I cant imagine doing 50-60 on one... the 15mph I was doing when I went down hurt bad enough. I cant believe Bangladesh halted the action cause we were disturbing the other people... blah blah... nice giong Hood, damn riding around the hotel with the horn button stuck.

Keep that propshaft Waller... that thing is too slow for me... I'll take the other one that came in the mail.

Big thanks to Burger King. I think I drank $20+ worth of free sprite.

Big thanks to Days Inn... Tyson and I stole about 3 days worth of breakfast and we all got some new towels.

Oh yeah.. our Firebird neighbors asked us at the track if we had automatics. He suggested we go to a 6 speed cause we have an easier time with boost spool. Keep to the F-Bodies my friend :squint:

I'll get some more stuff up later with the pictures I took. Great weekend, it was nice to get out and hang out with the crew and finally see Waller clean shaven.

Re: GAST Meet - September 24th-25th

More thanking to do here....

Thank you to the nice FHP for not pulling me or Tim over doing 90 in a 70 and taking down the civic behind me instead.

Thank you to the waitress at Pizza Hut who kindly forgot to give a few of us our bill....Hood was wondering why I wanted to get leave so damn quick.... we stole a pizza pan and knife and didnt pay for shit... yeah, i wanted to leave!

Thank you to Phil for letting us use his brand new rig as homebase at the track to stand, sit, and grab some shade with.

Some funny ass moments...

on the way there, me and Tyson watched as a guy with a gas can stood and watched the truck he was walking from start to pull away back on the highway. Someone got punked.

Im so glad no one witnessed my bike stunt into the curb. My shin is still a bit sore.

So far, having muffins and donuts in the morning from Days Inn has been great...grab and go.

I wonder what it looked like to see me, tim and tyson standing on a set of railroad tracks staring at 8 rolling bluebird bus chassis, 3 of which had complete motors. Nah, we didnt look like we were up to anything.

We were at the track on saturday night for what 4 hours? Jonathan left the door wide open to the hotel room filled with tools, the minibike and such. Nothing was missing amazing for the 'hood we were in.

That was freakin hilarious, but really worrying at the same time.

My favorites (other than the ones already mentioned):

- The look on the manager as we came back for more room cards (we wound up with 8).
- The look on Tim's face after running a 13.7 right after we just stated "It oughta run 11's".
- The look on everyone's face after I ran a 22.4.
- Gary (Waller's dad) - he ate a basket of very salty fries, came out to get a drink from his cooler, and realized Waller & I were gone in his car (with cooler). He said he actually knelt down while thinking about eating grass for some kind of moisture.
- Jonathan's phone conversation (I have video somewhere).
- Adam's inability to break a bottle.
- Tyson's tan.
- Me beating Waller's 10 sec truck with my 11 sec truck. (I won with a 14.1 to his 14.4).
- The gas station guy telling Tim how ghetto our trucks are (not knowing that Tim owned the truck.)

There are tons more, but I forget right now.

Re: GAST Meet - September 24th-25th

Yeah, that dude at the gas station was funny. (looking at Jon's truck with Hood inside doing some tuning; )

Dude in store; "Man, I'll bet he paid $18k for that truck, for $2k more he could of bought a Mustang GT and been faster, and looked better"
Me; "I dont think so, if you wanna see how fast it is, come to the track tomorrow with your Mustang and the trucks 15 years old." That guy was a tool. :rotf:

Oh man, did we all feel like ass's when the guy with the red s-10 came over and asked how fast they were. "Well, 3 or 4 of them should hit 11's" I blast 13's, Hood hits 14's.. :(
