I got a question.

I dont have a disconnect for my battery. Should I get this before I bring the truck to run at the track?

Not wanting a permanent install, here's what I did:

I got a battery disconnect (Standard DS247) and wired it up with my existing positive cable. Then I got a short cable (12"-18") to run from the switch to the battery so as to keep from hacking up my cable (this makes the switch removable). Then I mounted the switch on one of my tonneau cover frame bolts (I ran with my cover rolled up so that the switch was accessible). This worked for the tech guy at the track.

For a permanent install, I would have mounted the switch somewhere accessible from the outside of the bed or got the flaming river one and wired it up through a license plate bolt or the spare tire tube.

FWIW, make sure to get a switch that can handle high continuous and peak loads. The above switch can handle 125 amps continuous and 800 peak.

September 3rd/4th
- More racing for us
- Less strict tech inspection
- Less cool cars to look at
- More cops patrolling the highways/interstates

September 24th/25th

I am planning on coming but cant make it the 3-4th weekend.

so lets please make this for another weekend. I think you all will be happier to have it in on the 24-25(my truck should be running by then )

Either would be alright. But I do have to say the 24/25th would be easier $$ on me. Being I'm flying up to my sisters wedding on aug 27th, it would be rathe tight. But either one I will force myself to attend.

Dangit......I want you to be able to come to the meet Alvin......but yeah, your excuse is a good one.

FWIW, Alaska is beautiful. I spent a week up there when I was 17 and met Pete, Nicki, Hunter, Jamie, etc..... Wonderful place and wonderful SyTy locals.

Days Inn in Fort Valley, GA - $62.99 per night per Expedia.com

This hotel is 9 miles from the track and about 12 miles from I-75. Nearest place with decent hotels is Perry, which is right off of I-75, but the rooms really aren't that much cheaper.

I'll call Days Inn tomorrow and check on a group rate.....which means I need a preliminary head count (I won't hold you to it). So, I'll start:

Michael Hood - 1 room (2 adults)

I still have to hear back from the F-Body club, so that's why I haven't replied till now. Sorry bout that.
