Fuel Pump Sending Unit part number for Syclone

Anyone know a correct part number for the fuel pump sending unit? A lot of the info I found was pretty outdated and didn't necessarily answer the question. I also don't fully trust rockauto to be correct. Looks like Spectra is popular and what is readily available now.

Thanks

Here's a post I found. Looks like "FG06A" is for a Sy. But I don't remember anymore. I used to know this stuff from memory. Use it or loose it.

I looked at the rockauto offerings. There are two different senders one for the high pressure PFI engines and one for the low pressure TBI engines. They are not interchangeable. In the rockauto listings, there are 3-letter codes. The linked post tells about the codes. VPX and SEM look like they are the codes for the Syclone sender. Pay attention when ordering, and when you get the part, it has to have threaded fittings, not push-on.

Thanks for the info. I'll take a look at that sender.

Sure enough, the sender from spectra on rock auto is incorrect. Fg06b is what they have listed which uses push fittings. They don't even seem to carry the fg06a, but crap like Amazon does. Other manufacturers do indicate the SEM and VPX codes as you mentioned though.

I also used 1992 S-10 as my model and year on rockauto. Using this application, I was shown both fuel sender choices, because both the TBI and CPI engines were offered at the same time in 1992.

Using 1991 model year doesn't surprise me that only the B is what is shown. The listings go by engine VIN, and of course the Syclone VIN is Z, which is the TBI engine. Hence the low pressure, push on fittings, wrong for a Syclone, sender.

Dave is 100% correct here, FG06A is the part number for a Spectra. I'm in the middle of changing mine out. O'Reilly Auto Parts has it in stock or same day if ordered. Now I need to find the Walbro fuel pump to put it together.

I ended up with a Racetronix fuel pump, mainly because I could order directly from them. The two "Walbro's" I got, one had been used very obviously, and the other didn't match what I expected a Walbro to look like, so they weren't going to get installed.

The previous pump was a Walbro and ran for 18 years until the ethanol wore the pump and sending unit out. If I can find 1, I'll stick it.

Ron Gregory. He's an OG SyTy guy that has been selling Walbros as a side business since 1998. https://www.autoperformanceengineering.com/
I just recently suggested that a friend contact Ron to order 2 pumps for a ZR-1. Ron didn't know the ZR-1 has dual pumps, but he does now, and helped my friend get a suitable Walbro. This was 2 weeks ago, so Ron is still around, selling genuine Walbro. You don't have to worry about Chinese Counterfeit from Ron.
